Exactly what you would expect from an old school felt board. You do have to detach the plastic white letters from plastic bands. I used scissors and it wasn't too hard, but don't be in a hurry when you get started, though most who would love this are probably not in a hurry to begin with.

This letter board is very sturdy and well made. I can't wait to write my dinner menu on it. The only thing would change is how flimsy the letters feel. there is only one spot on the letters that keep them on the board and I am worried that after repeated use they may not work so well later.Thankfully they can be replaced when needed.

This is exactly what i was looking for! It's a fun way to decorate your space. I was debating on a smaller size but I'm glad I went with the 16x20 board. It fills my space really well and the quality is great. I would recommend this product!
