If you don't know olives and haven't worked in the olive business, you might assume that what passes for Olive Oil in most parts of the world is Olive Oil. It's not.Olives are a very life-giving plant. The fruit and fruit oil and leaf oil are fantastic. Kalamata is the best variety of Olive Oil, being the most useful at scrubbing the body of toxic fat and oil, and giving the best nutrients. I speak from decades of personal experience in medicine and health.In Greece, there is real Olive Oil thick as grease, and it's very beneficial. Olive oil in other parts of the world is literally watered down by one third to one half. They call this the Olive Oil Mafia, so they can make more money selling more bottles.I recommend il nuovo, fresh, unfiltered Olive Oil, Olive Leaf Oil, and other pure products from the Olive tree.This product is good. Could be better, darker, greener, with more content.

The oil arrived today, and has a Best Buy date of February 2019.It now comes in a plastic container and says it is bottled in Kalamata but no information about the olives.If you go to the website, it lists lots of products but no information on cost or flavor.This ProductAll of our Kalamata Extra Virgin Olive Oils are pressed from Koroneiki olives, and from groves located on the slopes of Mount Taygetus located in the South of the Peloponnese east of Kalamata.Ideal for fresh salads, grilled fish, white meat, raw sauces, pasta and vegetables.This unfortunately doesn't tell you a whole lot.

I love this olive oil but it came with olive oil coming out from the top and spilling on the bottle. That tells me it was not completely sealed. I can’t return it and I won’t use it. If they are going to send hear types of products they should make sure that every part is completely sealed. I am really disappointed and literally have to throw away good money.Apparently amazing fulfilled the order so they are responsible for the broken bottle. The company I purchased this from was quick to respond to the problem and explained the situation. Just be aware that amazing fulfillment can ruin an order.

This is my favorite olive oil. Very noticeable "olive" flavor and has a darker color than most oils. Great for dipping, marinades, and more. If you're looking for a cooking oil that's not going to change your flavors and just sort of blend in, you might want to look elsewhere. If you like a stronger profile oil, definitely give this one a try. Delicious!

I didn't find the taste bitter as some of the other reviews mentioned. I found it perfect balanced between strength and smoothness. I was using Colavita prior to this purchase and although it was quite good it didn't seem to marry its flavor to the food I was cooking in the same way. Colavita remained an obvious and identifiable flavor. Iliada behaves like every other olive oil as far as cooking is concerned. The difference is it adds a richness that I am now finding almost every recipe needs, almost like salt. I think I might like this olive oil way to much...

A good quality oil. Only four stars since it did not quite live up to the expectations set by the product description. Better Kalamata oil available locally at a lower price. I do like the metal can to protect freshness. May keep the can to store locally purchased oil.Update: This was published when the price for the oil was $18.95 and Prime eligible. Yikes! Product is now over $37 with another $16.59 in shipping. Almost $54 for half a litre of EVOO? Wow.

I love this stuff. Full body flavor. Mildly sweet but none of the over-powering peppery flavor in other Greek olive oils. This is the best.

This is the absolute best oil to use when caramelizing onions. Absolutely delicious. I can really taste the difference, and I love that it is from Greece and bottled in Greece.I've also used it to make simple vinaigrettes for my salads. Since I started using this, I have not gone back to bottled dressing.

Although this is nice olive oil, it is nowhere near as good as the L'Olivier Basil Oil where the basil flavour is distinctive and sumptuous so a bit disappointing.
