This is a pretty standard pirate hook. It's definitely kid sized, but it still works for me, an adult dude. I just have to squeeze my hand in a little. I wear a large in gloves. If you have ham hands and giant sausage fingers, this might not fit you very well.Regarding other reviews that said the hook just falls out of the black cup part - all you have to do is push the hook all the way in. There's a little lip on the hook, and once you get past that the hook pops into place.

This pirate hook was a hit with our grandson for his pirate birthday party. It fit his small hand perfectly but I do not feel it is designed to fit many larger adult hands. It is not as sturdy or thick as some others I have tried and the cup needs to be wider and slightly longer for larger hands to hold it securely. The price point could be a little less as there are others out there that have better properties for the same price. I would recommend for kids.

This is a great low cost prop for a costume. It's not overly fancy and can come apart easily, but it does the job.

kid likes playing with it. sturdy enough plastic (had for almost a week and still no cracks). wish it had something to hold it together better - falls apart pretty easily if kid isn't holding the inside piece (I see it getting lost pretty quickly if the kid just grabs the top hook part as the black cover only stays on when holding the inside).

It comes in a very nice, sturdy, recyclable, gift-able box cardboard box.The mechanism to hold the hook into the plastic shroud is decent. It’s just a Ridge of plastic but it’s constructed correctly. It pops in and out with a appropriate amount of force, not too much, not too little.The shroud it’s a little bit small for adult hands but I definitely can make it work. Probably ideal for a larger kid or small adult.It’s pretty good quality plastic which surprised me. In the picture I’m trying to squish the hook as hard as I can with two fingers, and I can’t compress the plastic. Hopefully will be decently durable.Definitely a step up from Dollar and party stores. I’m not sure about the $10 price tag, seems a little high but maybe with prime shipping figured in.Overall, I’m impressed with the quality of the plastic and the molding and how it fits together and I think it will last a lot longer than other items in this category.
