Dawnshard: Stormlight Archive

Another great short story from the master of fantasy
I started this book unsure whether the characters would interest me but determined to read it before the next book in this amazing series. To say the least it has surprised me, the minor characters from the main series have been fleshed out and actually have become a lot more interesting than I would have believed possible.Another great read from Brandon, hopefully many more to come in the future.

Character led stories
Sanderson says his stories are character led, and this is the epitome of that. Rysn and The Lopen are bursting with character and still they manage to surprise with change and growth. This is a delightful book and a worthy addition to the Stormlight Archive. Bravo Sanderson. I can't wait for the next one.

Interesting story with some cosmere implications
This story was well constructed. As always, exceptional world building set the scene. My only criticism would be the attempts at humour, which sometimes fell flat. Humour is not this author’s strongest trait in my opinion and can feel forced/underdeveloped at times. Would have given 3.5 stars if that was possible but I awarded the higher rating as overall it was a very enjoyable read and moved the cosmere mythos along nicely given that this was only a novella.

Dawnshard a novella in the Stormlight archive
Brandon’s ability to bring rich Characters to life, which stay with you long after the book is finished. Is what I enjoy most about his books. I found this hard to put down. Drawn in by the beautifully realised characters. Intrigued to know how they would react to the next issue arising in the story. This is a great side story to the stormlight archive. A must read, if you are a fan.

A beautiful tale but an epic story
Through the other books in the Stormlight Archive, I had enjoyed the extra character chapters, yet at the same time felt that something was missing to fully appreciate them as “people”.This is it.Read in one sitting, thoroughly enjoyed, and I look forward to the next!Thank you Brandon Sanderson once again!

a nice interim
A nice interim but maybe a lil short considering the cost is the same as a full length edition. Else good!

Insightful and inclusive
Great view into what is happening between Oathbringer and RoW. Sanderson's research into life with a disability is very insightful and the main character is inspiring. The story itself gives us more clues about the Cosmere, as well as a lot more questions and theories.Plus The Lopen. Can't go wrong with him, nor Rua it seems!

wonderful as always
As with all the Stormlight books, this one drew me into a strange wonderful world. Sanderson manages to create so much depth to his stories. It amazes me. If you have read the other books you will enjoy the extra tidbits dropped in this one, and the storyline kept me completely entertained as well. I couldn’t put it down.

Worth the price
I was hesitant to buy this short novel because I felt it was expensive compared to the cost of a full Stormlight book (kindle price). But it turns out it was a great read and I enjoyed it even more than Edgedancer. Rysn and the Lopen made for two great protagonists, the plot was tight and there are plenty of "ah ha!" moments. Now on to Rhythm of War...
