Great Magnet for Lightweight Steel Welding Alignment
These magnets were plenty strong enough to hold 1/8" x 1" x 18" steel bar perpendicular to 1/8" x 2" x 18" bar while welding.

Welder liked them.
These were a gift for our son-in-law who is a welder. He really liked them and said he would like more of them.

Small but mighty
These are very small- only just a little more than an inch tall however they have pretty good holding power considering their size. They are not strong enough for tall pieces of heavy gauge steel but can fit into area that other 90° magnets can not. Good for their intended purpose- small projects.

Perfect for small projects
I have read a lot of negative reviews about these by folks who are expecting too much, they are called "mini magnet" for a reason. These work great for small projects which is what they are designed for. If your setup falls apart you are using the wrong tool and need bigger magnets, that's it. I have tried HF (they are not even aligned symmetrically) and Forney (they are ok). Well made and accurate.

Magnetic field is not large nor strong for bigger pieces of metal
Well I had bigger hopes for these. Mixed reviews lead me to think they might be stronger than what others laid claim. Nope not strong enough to do big jobs. If you work with sheet metal then sure this might work but to build a roof rack NOPE. They're weak and non electromagnetic. Please do yourself a favor and get the magnets with a switch. Why? Because when magnetic metal shavings find their way to these magnets, they are hard to clean. More shavings on the magnets equals less holding power as the magnetic field is not large nor strong for bigger pieces of metal. The only saving grace these had to keep them at 3 stars is they could hold their own weight magnetically and show a perfect 90 degree angle but a different magnet was holding the pieces of metal together.

Nice strong magnet on a "switch"
These are very good for holding metal in place for welding. They switch on and off completely so setting up and tearing down is simplified. Not cheap, but worth it.

Small and light weight
Smaller than expected. Maybe my fault for not paying careful attention to the dimensions. 25lbs is hugely optimistic and under ideal conditions. Would work best for small scale projects. Paid a premium for this brand based on reviews of less expensive brands. Still made in China.
