Sealey Vsj125 Soft Jaws for Vices - 125Mm

I’ve found Sealey products to be in the ‘hit or miss’ category. I was a little ambivalent about purchasing these given that and the fact that the rubber section looks especially anorexic in the images provided.I’m glad I went ahead with the purchase. They are appropriate sized, with suitable thickness on the soft section. I’ve clamped several delicate surfaces/pieces (particularly highly polished steel parts and a couple of flimsy plastic parts) in my vice with these jaws and there’s been no marring of the surface or plastic deformation after the application of adequate clamping pressure. This is the benefit of these traditional style soft jaws, of course; the rubber elastically deforms instead of damaging the workpiece.They are very light as you’d expect but the aluminium is sufficiently beefy, rest assured. The magnets are not very strong which means the jaws snap on and off very easily (don’t forget this is supposed to be the case, the lip on the back holds them firmly due to gravity — strong magnets would be, at best, pointless and, at worst, an annoyance).

Fits my 5 inch vice well and holds the job firmly without any problems, but the magnets are very poor

Very nice soft jaws, nicely made... magnet retaining system works very well.. Unlike some i have tried.Ideal partner for the Foxhunter 6inch bench vice which i also have.

Bought these to go with my new 'Stanley 183068 MaxSteel Heavy-Duty Bench Vice 150mm 6-inch' and they fit perfectly. They are magnetic which is handy and should protect whatever is in the vice from the normal vice teeth. Happy with my purchase and a fair price.

Whilst they appear to be well made, my title sums them up. They're heading right back to Amazon.If they had decent magnets, I'd be really happy.

I have been struggling with thin pieces of wood against the jaws for many years. These are a real improvement. They are held magnetically against the jaws. They have a softish plasic surface to grip the material. They do fall off occasionally but save considerable time.

I use these on a 15cm wide Stanley FatMax vice. The jaws of this vice have a rough toothed texture, which is exactly why i wanted these soft jaws. The soft jaws are sturdy, well made, fit well and are very effective in use; however, the rough metal vice jaws means there is not much metal-to-magnet contact area, and consequently the soft jaws fall off easily.

Not enough time has gone by to assess their long term durability, but they seem to be ok.

Die Backen sind im Winkelbereich magnetsich. Der relativ feste Gummi packt gut zu ohne Spuren zu hinterlassen. Etwas Vorsicht ist lediglich bei ganz weichem Material angesagt.
