Norfolk tea
The Brita MAXTRA filter, especially the "Limescale Expert" version, is generally well-regarded for tackling hard water issues, and I can see why, particularly for areas like Norfolk. Here's a slightly more personal take:Brita MAXTRA for Norfolk Hard Water:Effectiveness: It's pretty effective at reducing limescale, which, let's face it, is a major issue in hard water areas like Norfolk. You really notice the difference in how clear and clean your tea looks.Taste Improvement: I've found it does a good job of improving the taste of tea. It filters out those impurities and chlorine that can give tap water a funny taste, which is a definite plus.Limescale Reduction: This is a big one for me. It really helps prevent that annoying limescale buildup in kettles.Cartridge Lifespan: The need to replace cartridges regularly is a bit of a pain, and it does add to the ongoing cost.Overall:For anyone in Norfolk dealing with hard water and its impact on their daily cuppa, the Brita MAXTRA filter is a useful solution. It makes a noticeable difference in the tea's flavor and helps keep your kettle in good condition.

brita water filter review
The BRITA MAXTRA PRO Limescale Expert Water Filter Cartridge 6 Pack is a fantastic choice for anyone dealing with hard water. After using these filters, I immediately noticed a difference in water quality—no more chlorine taste, and my kettle and coffee machine have significantly less limescale buildup. The water tastes much fresher, making tea and coffee noticeably better. Each filter lasts about a month, and they’re easy to install in my BRITA jug. While they’re a bit pricey, the long-term benefits for both water quality and appliance protection make them well worth it. Highly recommended!

Reliable Filtration for Better Taste & Appliance Longevity
I've been a consistent user of Brita water filters for as long as I can remember. My primary reasons for using them are simple: I personally find that filtered water tastes significantly better than tap water, and crucially, using it in our coffee machine, kettle, and water bottles noticeably reduces the need for constant descaling and general maintenance. This alone makes them a worthwhile investment for protecting appliances and saving time. While these filters offer reasonable value, I do adjust my replacement schedule a bit. Since the area I live in has relatively softer water compared to most of the UK, I tend to be a bit more generous with when I choose to replace the filters. This helps me try and get some extra life out of each cartridge without compromising too much on taste or appliance protection, although those in very hard water areas would likely benefit more from strict adherence to the recommended replacement schedule.I'm not absolutely certain what differs this from the other variants, but the promise of reducing limescale gives peace of mind for the long-term health of our small appliances.

All about the limescale.
I live in a area where water has a high limescale content so I thought these would help because a was descaling my kettle every month. They seem to be working well with little sign of build up in the kettle three weeks in. Happy with them so far, easy to use and fit my filter jug. If they last longer then they will be value for the money.

Taste the difference - no going back
We are in a very hard water area and although we've always used Brita Maxtra filters we have found these to be exceptional. You can certainly taste the difference. A little pricey but it's 6 months supply and the difference it makes is worth it so we won't be going back and regularly order these now
