good for Laughlin/Vegas/Arizona weather
The media could not be loaded. I bought these shoes for the sole purpose of not getting my dogs paws burned while walking in our trip. The material doesn't feel flimsy or cheap they never ripped or got a hole from walking in our trip. The shoes felt pretty sturdy and breathable. When we put them on it fit his paws perfectly. The problem was that his legs are too skinny from where you tighten it so they slipped off easily unless we tightened it as much as we could without hurting him. The picture I put was his first day wearing them he wasn't too happy. He didn't know how to stand up with them, tried taking them off and walked like a newborn baby deer. He walked funny at first but on the 2nd day he got used to it as we walked all around Las Vegas (it was 109F) and Laughlin by the Colorado River (it was 115 F when we went). I provided a video of him walking in the shoes. I was skeptical about the ground still being able to burn his paws but when I would check to feel his paws they were not hot at all!!! We also let him swim with the shoes on in the river, so it wouldn't hurt when he would walk on top of the rocks where the shallow area was and he had no problems with it on.Next, I took him to the Grand Canyon and Williams in Arizona (it was 100 F the two days we went) to explore and I noticed his feet were moist from the sweat so I would take it off and carry him but then put them back on once they've dried and he was able to keep walking on them. I would check to see if his paws would get blisters while having it on from walking to the view points but there was no blistering. His paws did not get burned or hurt thanks to these dog booties. I got a lot of compliments on him wearing them he looks so cute and happy in them. Another thing was they did keep slipping off while at the grand canyon but it was because I did not tighten them enough because I thought it would hurt him. I did end up tightening up to wear it shows the shoe size but it didn't hurt him as he was still willing to walk in them and didn't bark or try to take them off. I think it helped that I also used the Mushers secret on his paws before I put the shoes on him just incase the heat from the pavement would go through the shoes but I didn't see any problems. Overall, I do recommend getting these for hot weather. My dog survived walking through the heat without blisters or getting his paws burned. Must get!

Love these shoes for my boy!
The media could not be loaded. I will start by addressing previous reviews showing paw injuries regarding the Grip-Tex booties.1st: Sizing. These shoes come in pairs of two. You will not receive 4 shoes for one order. This is important because paw sizes differ, sometimes pretty greatly, between the front and rear paws. Before ordering the shoes, I made sure to measure both paws while the paws were bearing weight. This will ensure you order the correct size of shoes. My dog wears a size 3 in the front and a size 2.75 in the back.2nd: Socks.Socks are super important when wearing these shoes. I ordered the Rypet Anti-Slip Dog socks to wear with these shoes vs. the ruff-wear socks. The ruff-wear socks are smaller than they advertise them and there's no grip. Socks help prevent friction from causing blisters on your dog's feet and the Rypet dog socks are long enough to go over the dew claws (at least for my dog). Not only that, they secure in place with velcro straps too.As for the shoe itself. When we received them, we noticed they were initially very hard (as any new shoe would be) but the rubber sole has become very flexible with usage. The rubber soles are made by Vibram, which is amazing since Vibrams are very long-lasting and are pretty popular in the hiking community for human shoes. This gives some security that you're not just ordering some random shoe with questionable reliability and quality assurance.Breathable material. I've attached some close-up pictures of the booties. They are very breathable which is great since dogs sweat through their paws.THEY DON'T FALL OFF! These shoes are pretty great when it comes to walking through the concrete jungle and they do not seem to bother my dog. He runs with them just fine as well. This may also be due to the anti-slip socks doing a little extra work and gripping the shoe better.Additionally, I also labeled each of his shoes after his first use to make sure his shoes are wearing comfortably to his step pattern. My dog no longer battles me when putting shoes on which might be his testament to the quality of these shoes.Do with this information as you will but this is a great investment for your best friend.

Works for my dog, but ? 2 left foot boots!
4 Stars because they are not Left and Right side sets. And one side doesn't really fit all. My 14 year old lab had a spinal injury and is not dragging her hind feet, toeing over, and has a weak hind end. I needed something that would protect her hind feet from injury and add some traction to improve mobility and stability. These do the trick. I did have to play around a bit to make sure they would not slip off. And they seem to be 2 Left Foot boots. The velco straps both attach in the same direction so the left foot pulls out to the outside of the dog, the right foot pulls toward the underside of the dog. She now wears special bandages on her lower hind legs to protect the back of her leg below the hock and the combination of the bandages and boots works well. She has been wearing them for a while now and they seem to be wearing well. She drags more on the right side so I have started rotating the boots from foot to foot to result in more even wear since they are not side dedicated. We walk on city streets and the sole is holding up well. They make a big difference indoors on slippery floors. I just wish they came as dedicated front and back, left and right side. Dog's have mirror image right and left paws just like human hands and feet. Front and rear feet likewise are built differently and pressure on the foot as it moves and weight bears reflect this. They need dedicated shoes for long term just like human shoes and gloves are left and right. There are no perfect products of this type. These are pretty good. I may upgrade to expensive custom boots, but for the price these work well.
