My First Graders could really identify with all of the scenarios that Rico confronted on his worst day. We were able to address Cause and Effect and Compare and Contrast using their own experiences of a good day vs a bad day. They asked to be able to access this book at free choice reading time and were thrilled to "share" it with a friend.

I liked that it had the text in English and Spanish. I enjoy Julia Cook's books, especially the ones about RJ.

Great lesson and the preschoolers loved the story and talked about it for weeks.
