I would have had to take all the canvas off my boat and find a clean hard spot to use the tool that came with the replacement snaps. With this tool I was able to walk around the boat and repair the broken snaps without having to remove the entire cover and put it back on once all the snaps were repaired. Worked perfectly!

Mine also bent.; to the point where they're totally unusable. They looked really sturdy in the photos, but it is not the tool you want to buy if you want to actually use it!

Had to put fasteners on an oil cloth coat and not only did it punch out the hole perfectly, but it applied just the right pressure to secure the stud without damaging it!

It works just like I’d hoped it would. My only complaint is.. it’s a little hard to use. My hands aren’t as strong as they used be so I found it a bit hard to squeeze. It will be used a lot in my business. It absolutely works great. It’s just hard on the hands. I had to use both hands and my thigh to use it. 🤷‍♀️

I bought this hoping to attach stainless steel snaps onto sunbrella fabric.Horrible value for the money.I realized out of the bag that when closing the tool, the ends didn't line up. But I tried to make the best of it and use it anyway.First stainless steel snap, as I pressed on the snap, it couldnt close it onto the fabric. Then, after trying to apply more pressure to close the snap on, the middle of the tool bent.Save your money.

Does the job

I was trying to use these to put snaps on my canvas boat cover. They couldn't even crimp the snap tight enough to make it stay together! This is nothing more than a cheap set of vise-grip pliers with a (poorly aligned) crimp jig welded to the ends. There is bad, and there is BAD! These are easily BAD in many ways!UPDATE 11/11/2023: The company has promised to send me the latest version of the tool. Once it arrives I will give it a fair and honest review and will post my review here for everyone to see.UPDATE 11/16/2023: I received the replacement tool that is the "upgraded" version. And it does work slightly better. For that reason I updated this review to two-stars, even though I still feel the original tool is complete junk! The upgraded version, which should be available as a "related" item, did actually work! But it will not handle the heavy canvas of a boat cover without pre-punching a hole. And it is not large enough to go over the weighted material on the edge of most boat covers. However, it would be a great tool for simple around-the-house projects.
