AWESOME!
This is a very clever device and perfect for a wallet, keys or any other items you want to remain hidden. I use it to quick-stash my wallet when I'm doing UBER and though, noone has ever snooped, I'm confident that should I step out of the vehicle, they would have to really be good in order to find the hidden items. It fits flush in the lid of your console and looks factory. Took about 10 minutes to properly install and looks GREAT.

Toyota should have this as an option
Seriously - every 5th Gen 4Runner owner needs to get one of these. The original empty slot is for a tissue holder. Now you can put your car registration, insurance, safety inspection or other paperwork. It's made of plastic and is durable. Fits flawlessly.

Great hidden storage box, BUT will not work if you have the safe installed!
This hidden storage box was easy to install and would have been a great addition to my 4Runner, but we have the metal safe installed in our console. Due to this, the console would not close with the hidden storage box. Do not buy if you have the safe! I docked one star because this should have been listed in the description.

A "MUST Have" for your 'Runnah
Ok NGL here, this things actually cool & very useful. It seems well built, has self-adhesive strips already on it to hold it into place (although, at first just to test-fit it, I didn't peel the backing off, and the hidden compartment stayed put). I ended up using the self-adhesive strips just to make sure it didnt fall out of the console lid, and I dont expect any problems in that area. I already have hidden my checkbook (don't laugh - I'm 45), an emergency $20 bill, and a little travel Advil tube thingy with a few spares of my medications in there. I think my personal protection firearm will also fit in there just fine. Great concealment, and I don't think ANYbody would think to look UNDER the middle console lid. Brilliant.

As described
This item is as expected. It allows a little more storage in the middle console and is “hidden”. It fits snugly and I didn’t even have use the adhesive strips. I wish it was a bit more substantial but really, it’s not going to take a beating so I’m sure it will be fine.

Flimsy
I was actually surprised with just how flimsy it was. I wasn't expecting much, but it was just too cheapy made to do the job. Apparently my opinion was shared by the prior purchaser, because I got someone else's return.Good concept, but the pushpin-catch latch design is inadequate for the purpose and would break off or malfunction within a short time with regular use. It barely held closed upon receipt. That's considering that the unit I got was never installed by me, or the prior purchaser.I returned the return for a full refund.If they improve the material and design, I'll consider it again though.
