Catholic Children's Illustrated Bible-NAB

Everything I wanted. Text able to be read by my 7 year-old grandson, and beautifully illustrated. It would be helpful to have a index by name (Job, Daniel, Samuel, etc) but that's up to the author!

Super! Just what was wanted for my Grandson’s 1st Holy Communion

This is a beautifully illustrated bible for children although it is quite heavy for an 8 year old.

Excellent children’s bible with pictures.

I bought one for each of my kids 7 & 9. My 9 yr old daughter loves it so much she's already read it front to back. The pictures are stunning and the stories are a bit challenging when it comes to deciphering certain words, but easy enough for her to read through & get the "just". As she re - reads it and learns new words she'll enjoy it more.My son is still afraid of blood & doesn't like fighting, so shied away early on during the story of Cain & Abel. For now we skip over the "darker" stories although I do still think the way they're written are perfectly appropriate for a child his age (I put an example pic for you to see).I also find that both of them think it's the perfect weight and size for reading on their own.

I’ve heard many dedicated Catholics say there is not an acceptable catholic bible to give their children. With this one being out, they will have to change their opinions! The illustrations are amazing—honestly jaw-dropping at times. In paging through it I found myself inspired to pause and read many of the “stories.” And yes, many of the deuterocanonical books (Maccabees, Tobit, etc) ARE present, making it stand head and shoulders above the Protestant bibles which are missing many Old Testament books.That said, my ONLY complaint is that some of the translations still have a Protestant bent (The Blessed Virgin is often left out of some of the sections, John 6 is just plain omitted, Peter being “the rock” of the church is glossed over a bit, and most importantly it incorrectly says Mary and Joseph were only “engaged” during the Annunciation which every church father I’ve heard of disagrees with and a heavy-duty adult translation like the Douay-Rheims will clarify). However, my white-out and pen can adjust the worst mistakes and good old oral tradition when we read it together and the other books in our home will shore up any other omissions. I’m giving it 5 stars despite these complaints because there is ZERO competition out there for it and the authors deserve credit for that. I was a little concerned at another review which said one of the photos (of Susanna “bathing”) was inappropriate but you can see for yourself that it’s not really scandalous (the behavior of those peeping WAS which is why it’s important to include such things in a bible).I highly recommend you get this bible. Highly! The illustrations are truly breathtaking and the translations are highly accessible to children. Even if your children just look at the pictures before they can read, I have a feeling it will teach them a deep love of scripture at an early age and THAT is very much worth it. I was also worried it would be small but it’s a grand old size. We’re truly pleased to have this in our home!

A very fine edition for Elementary & Middle School children. Illustrations are life-like, not cute or cartoon-ish!Two pages per biblical story, easily navigable by our kids! Wish more families would use this Children's Bible!

Purchased this Bible to give to our grandson for his CONFIRMATION and FIRST COMMUNION. It is beautiful. I wish there were adult bibles that were illustrated as beautifully.
