Usage: Add Bluetooth *MUSIC* to my car stereo., but *NOT* phone I have a 2006 BMW 325i sedan, in great shape inside and out and mechanically. . .but. . .it only supports Bluetooth phone, not Bluetooth music. The Bluetooth phone works fine in the car, so I specifically looked for a BT receiver that did *NOT* have a mic, I want to use the car buluetooth for phone. The reason I chose this specific BT receiver over the many others in the market place, is it's foot print. You just plug one end into USB power, and the other end into your aux input. EZ and unobtrusive!. If your aux input and USB power are not that close together, it comes with a very nice quality aux audio extension cord, even with the base model. With the BMW, the aux input and the power supply are both inside the armrest console, and less than 1 inch apart. So I just needed the simple little 3 inch cable, it works brilliantly inside the console, and nobody even knows it's there. Any passenger would think the phone is streaming directly with the stereo, and would never know this extra device exists. It does have a cool light when it's active, so if it was visible in your vehicle, it's kind of cool, and definitely not bulky or huge eye sore. It was easy to pair with my phone, and it streams music nicely until you get a phone call. At which time the bluetooth transfers smoothly to the car bluetooth. NICE!!!

Super strong stable Bluetooth connection. Turns on automatically and connects every time. Sound quality is terrific, I couldn't be happier. Five Stars and a hearty recommendation. *UPDATE* I purchased this product in July. While I stand by my initial review, there is something I should add, as potential buyers definitely need to be aware of this. This product is very sensitive to the cold. If you park outdoors, be aware that when the temp gets down to about the 30° range, the firefly will connect, but not send out any audio until it (and your car) warms up a bit. Sometimes can take a few minutes, depending on how long it takes your car to warm up. Not a deal breaker for me personally, overall I am still very satisfied by the ease and reliability of this product. But for folks who want to just get in their car, turn on the music and go, this could be a problem in the winter time.

i have struggled with finding a connection either aux or usb to work in my 2012 cadillac (factory system only defaults to iOS, no android support for bluetooth or usb music) This fit the bill and works great. no ground loop /noise issues. sound quality is good and consistent. not great, but definitely good enough for in the car. the call function has worked flawlessly, even with the firefly located inside my center console. I have no issues with overheating like some people describe. The only reason i gave this 4 stars vs 5 is that the auto connect does not seem to function consistently. It successfully auto connects probably 1 out 10 times (very rarely) its easy enough to connect via "previously connected devices" but it is a little frustrating as I have other devices that connect to my phone 100% of the time. It is frustrating but not enough to return or stop using. I have NOT tried this on my home stereo in order to really test the sound quality. In short, I'd buy it again without hesitation. it cost ~$30 at the time of purchase which seemed kind of high, but it is less than what I spent on other devices trying to find a solution for my car

It has been almost a year since I installed this receiver in my car, and it has been sitting there ever since. This little beast does what it is advertised to do. Period. - No one should expect top notch sound quality from a bluetooth receiver. So I gave it 5 stars since it is not competing with a wired HiFi system! - There is a little delay, particularly noticeable when watching videos. The delay tends to decrease as you keep watching. - You don't really need the ground-loop filter. I bought one as recommended by a fellow reviewer. Yes, you do hear a hissing sound when NOTHING is playing, but I swear it disappears the moment you start playing something. - Be careful as your car's USB might not be able to power the device. The USB in my car is also connected to the speakers so the system was confused whether to provide power to the connected device or get data from it! I ended up buying a tiny car USB charger (5 Watts, 5 Volts, 1 Amp) and it worked flawlessly. Finally, I think we should live with the fact that these kind of products are hit or miss. They might work for somebody and completely not for someone else. Miles vary. It might be from a defective device, or a troubled connection, as was the case with my car's USB logic. All I could say for this product that it DID work for me and it worked beautifully. Hope it helps.

FREAKING AWESOME. This little device is amazing. sets up in seconds and is ready to pair with whatever source device you have. iphones, androids, mp3 players, computers, laptops, tablets, etc. etc etc. if you have a radio, car audio, home audio, motorcycle audio system and it does not have blutooth and you wanna play your jams from your other device through that system, this is the real deal. small, compact, simple device that you can tote from place to place. simply plug the 3.5mm connector into an AUX input on anything, plug the other end into a usb port for power and presto, zippo, wham, you are jamming to your playlists. will sync up with two different phones and will remember 8 diff paired devices. sound is excellent, build quality is excellent. Comes with a 3.5mm to 3.5mm extention if your usb is further away, (about 3 foot but if you need it you can get longer extentions. can be in the glovebox, console or back seat and will still work great. select the AUX input on your stereo system and listen to your pandora, iheart, amazon prime, etc. LOVE THIS THING. I use it in my truck and on my Motorcycle. Flawless

I bought this bluetooth adapter hoping that this would allow my phone to connect automatically without having to fiddle with anything. While this does work sometimes, other times the bluetooth refuses to play any music, forcing me to unplug and replug the adapter. Very annoying to have to do this several times a day. In addition, I have discovered that this does not handle heat very well. I live in the Pacific Northwest, where summers don't get too hot; however, this thing would constantly sputter out and temporarily die, leaving it not working until it cools down again. I do not think this bodes well over the long term. And finally, after a few months of use, the red plastic casing on the USB slipped off, showing the insides and looking ugly. It still works, but overall I am no longer confident in the quality of this product.

Love it. The bluetooth that came in my car is cumbersome to use. I bought the bluetooth where you charge up this bluetooth module, plug an auxiliary cord on the module then your aux plug. Press a button and the bluetooth module turns on and then you connect. It worked really good. You just had to remember to keep it charged. After my last one was stolen I went to Amazon for a replacement. Saw this and despite it being more expensive then the previous one, I liked how it worked. Plug one end into your USB and the other end into you AUX. Mine are right next to each other and out of sight. Looks like a winner to me. Made the purchase, plugged it in and it's as easy as getting in the car. Start the car and instant connection to my phone. As soon as the device recognizes your bluetooth signal from your phone it pairs immediately. No charging of module's. The 45 second routine of getting in the car. Starting the car, turning on the bluetooth module then pairing with my phone days are over with this guy. Money well spent. Just make sure your car has an AUX cord port. Some newer cars and all older cars do not have that feature.

Love the idea and it worked fast and easy. Just connected to my Bluetooth but it does have that hissing sound so I used the little needle to fix it and when I pressed the button it turned red and stopped working. I pressed it back to the other mode (green or blue can’t remember the color) but just delt w/ the hissing sound. It’s not tooo bad but if your a stickler for that kind of thing I’d just buy a aftermarket system. I got used to it but I’ll be upgrading head units soon anyways.

Produit assez bien conçu. Qualité du son au rendez-vous et connectivité facile mais par contre l’appareil a quelques fois du mal à se connecter directement lorsque le Bluetooth est activé. Il est par ailleurs nécessaire d’avoir la prise Jack non loin de la prise USB car le fils n’est pas assez long mais mais cela permet d’avoir un fils qui ne traîne pas dans toute la voiture.

It was a greate piece of kit to be used in a car. I bought it to put in my car to connect my phone to the car speaker via Bluetooth. It works great with a few minor issues (very slow in connecting to my phone, sometimes does not automatically connect to my phone etc) but apart from those the device works great with very good sound quality. However after a year of using the device starts to play up, connection was lost or broken while i was playing music so i had to switch it off and turned it back on again, and when i turned back on and tried to connect to the device it wont recognise it and said the device was turned off. So 2 stars off for those issues Update: the seller contacted me and offered a new one as it seems the old one was defective or the firmware issue. The new device arrived after a few days and wow, i could see much better than the previous one. It connects to my phone nearly immediately and automatically after I turn my car on, sound quality is still excellent and no lag or disconnect during music playing anymore. Very happy now and definitely recommend to anyone to want to have a Bluetooth kit to listen to music in the car

Endlich ohne Kabel Musik vom Handy im Auto Hören. Das Gerät Funktioniert einwandfrei und ohne Probleme. Die Tonqualität ist vollkommen in Ordnung Funktioniert sogar wenn man über das Handy Navigiert. Der laufende Titel wird bei Navigationsansagen leise im Hintergrund fort gesetzt und wird nach Abschluss der Ansage automatisch wieder lauter . Für mich das richtige Gerät und vor allem ohne das lästige kabel am Handy zu haben Dafür gibt es von mir Fünf von Fünf Sternen *****
