Definitely helps to burn through the puppy's energy
I recently rescued a three month old pit puppy and he's got a ton of energy! I don't exactly have the level of fitness required to take this guy running every day, and he's still learning how to play fetch, so this is a great way to get him moving fast AND using his brain to try and catch the bone. The cord is a little shorter than I pictured, which makes it a little too easy for him to catch the bone-- or maybe I'm just a little too slow, it's hard to say. The ends of the rope that make the loop are secured with what looks like a rubber tape of some sort, and unfortunately my pup loves how it feels in his mouth. I do my best to keep his sharp baby teeth away so it doesn't fall apart. So far, so good...The pole is great quality. It's in two pieces that screw together, but there's plenty of threading to connect them which hasn't unscrewed at all yet. With a lot of these flirt poles, I've found that the main complaint from people is that the bar breaks at the joint. I don't see this happening with this pole, because it's a pretty solid metal, and the joint is well done. The bone at the end is adorable and soft, and of course it's got a squeaker, which my pup loves. The problem with the bone is that the rope that sticks out either end doesn't go all the way through, so after playing with the quick little monster a handful of times, the bone and rope ripped apart. (I really need to get better at the keep away part -- he's too quick for me!) Thankfully, the loop on the end of the rope makes it possible to attach other compatible toys, so we attached another rope toy that we could loop on and were good to go again. We still kept the bone because he still likes to squeak it.This arrived at our house with perfect timing, because the next two days were rainy and too miserable to play outside. This flirt pole was perfect for getting some of his energy out while we waited for better weather. Just make sure there's enough space for your pup to chase it carefully, because walls and furniture become insignificant while they're in hot pursuit of the toy (at least for my pup they did). I had to find a relatively open area of the house because he's is still clumsy on his big puppy feet, and he slid right into the wall a couple of times until I found a better space (sorry buddy).

Adjustable fun!
My pup loves this toy, though it would be nice if there was more than just the one attachment. I appreciate that you can shorten the pole and adjust it, my pup is smaller and this is an inside toy for us so a short pole works great. We'll look to get more toys that I might attach, we're already learning the rule not to bite the rope as I stop playing with her when she does that so that has held up well.

Cautious about the metal
Pros: Pretty, durable, good for small lower drive dogs.Cons: Handle made of metal could potentially hurt the dog if dog is super hyper or if you lose your grip.

Great for play during the summer
I wanted something for my dog to get her moving around/not being bored in the house during the summer and on rainy days. Right now it is just too hot to go in the backyard and play fetch or just run around like we usually do. 103 degrees every day just isn't good for anyone. So this toy was the perfect solution. We play a variation of fetch in the house with this or more of a "chase the toy". It serves it's purpose well in these Summer months

Who would have thought?
I bought this because I have two hyperactive retrievers and I was looking for something other than a chew toy to play with. It took less than a minute to put the wand together and add the soft "bone," and they were instantly chasing after it as I was sliding it across the floor. Then, I was swinging it back and forth for them to try and catch - - it's a different type of toy, and now one that I'll work with training them on. I'm just hoping they don't get bored with it.

My Aussies enjoy it
This was easy to put together. The pole is two pieces that screw together to make a longer pole. The toy itself is a stuffed toy with a rope on it. You loop it through the rope and attach it to the pole. If the dogs destroy the toy, I will be able to put a replacement toy on the rope. I wish the rope was longer, but my dogs both enjoy it as is. I put it away between uses - this toy needs supervision.

The owner is thrilled!
My 4 year old Westie has had a very similar toy since he was little and he never gets tired of it. When this one arrived he grabbed the toy as soon as I opened the box and I had to wait to get everything put in place. When I was done, we had to play right away. The pole is thick and sturdy and the toy is large and soft. I wish the toy was a tad smaller and lighter like the one we have in his older toy which is more manageable, especially for me. Due to the length of the cord and the large size of the toy I have to work harder to prevent my pup from catching the "prey". Compared to the other similar toy we have, this toy is sturdier than the older one but, due to weight of pole, length of cord and size of toy, it demands more effort from the human and, in turn, makes it easier for the dog to succeed.

Sturdy
My dog loves flirt poles and I've re ordered the same cheap one a dozen of times because she absolutely destroys them. This one is sturdy metal, which is awesome for durability but the weight of it makes play time a little shorter. The plushie fell off within 20 minutes because my gal is a tugger. But other than that we are happy with this new toy.
