This is so far the best ballet workout I have tried
This is so far the best ballet workout I have tried! This is invigorating, enjoyable and making you feeling graceful and toned up even after one set of 23 mins! The music is also chosen with good taste, which is a common problem for many ballet/barre type workouts, so that adds extra 6th star! I would have actually given 10!!!!My most favourite is the barre workouts from the 2nd disc, and sassy girl from the 3rd one! All in all, there are so many variations to choose from, so you never get bored and always look forward to what the next day brings! I was really fighting with MHB classes, where I had actually to force myself to do it, was too boring and too repetitive, so today I have switched over to Sleek technique, and felt relief and joy right away!Speaking of the results - hard t tell yet, as I started 2 weeks ago only, 3 times a week, but no doubts it will work, tone and elongate the muscles. I walked straighter just by doing it 1st time! One tip I could mention: the core, stomach should be always tight, with pelvis tucked in, this way you also train stomach and glutes while doing leg exercises. They do mention it sometimes during the dvds course, but not too often, so can be neglected by beginnersSo I highly recommend it, and wish that they could create more of such brilliant workouts! Their online streaming is a bit expensive for me

Tough Ballerinas
I came to Sleek Technique though the now ceased Fitness channel on SKY and did a couple of the barre workouts which I liked very much. I eventually decided to take the plunge and invest in the box set and I’m not disappointed. The three dvds are well presented, sensibly laid out in menus and have lots of different workouts on so you’ll never get bored. Don’t think this is an airy-fairy prancing ballerina workout - the bootcamp sections are TOUGH! When you see the beautiful lean instructor dripping with sweat, it’s time to get worried! I was previously concerned my fitness regime was lacking in cardio so the challenging bootcamp element is a very welcome addition to my daily workouts.I’ve never been a dancer but I’ve always loved yoga and Calanetics so Sleek fits in and compliments the other things I do very nicely. I’ll use these dvds for a long time as you can choose the intensity and length of the workouts you want to do, the music isn’t annoying and you can definitely see and feel your progress. It does move quickly so the first couple of times doing a routine can be sketchy but once learned, it’s fine. I quite like the ‘come on, keep up!’ feeling of it! I have high hopes for the results I will see from this as I’m already more toned.

Lots of workouts but very hard to follow
This box set disappointed me. It has some nice workouts (there are three DVDs each with multiple workouts) however it is very fast pace and the moves are NOT explained well. As a dancer I found this very hard to follow. I found that I couldn't keep up and get into the right positions in time. It was infuriating. They went straight into the move without telling you what to do first, and the exercises basically just repeated themselves which made it a little boring.I am disappointed because this box set has a lot of great reviews but it was poorer quality than I expected. I will keep trying it as I think it will get easier once I become more familiar with the routines, however I would not recommend this to people. Especially if you are like me, and want to make sure that all of your moves are technically correct.

Fantastic. Good buy.
Amazing. Great fun and a really great exercise, very tiring you, not really easy enough for complete beginners but still well worth it. Eatch iut for the stretches though, they are ballerinas so they stretch ridiculously far, some of the stretches I couldbt even attempt like lying on your back and bringing your feet over your head snd on he floor behind your head and stepping to stretch them out; I can't even do that with my legs in the air and on my shoulders. There are a few more, they say to attempt it anyway but if you can't do some then actually don't because it just strains your muscles otherwise. However, I would still recommend this it really is fun. Ivr always wanted to do ballet but never could because I'm too old now and my parents didn't want me to when I was younger. This gives me hr chance to feel like o can do ballet, even though I can't.

problemswith using a chair
I have bought various ballet dvds and used a chair instead of a barre without any problem, however on this set I find it difficult to coordinate my light and left side, I guess it is because the dancers use the classic barre and I know it sounds sillybut... am I the only one with this problem?

Fantastic Sleeking at it's best
Recieved my copy of Sleek technique -Sleek Ballet Box set this morning. I have gone through the dvds & done all of the workouts working up a sweat. Felt fantastic afterwards.Having been a Dancer all of my life, I find that alot of workout dvds on the market are too easy for me but this is a real challenge & I love it so much. I am a teacher of Dance now which means I don't always get to Dance & workout as much as I would like. I never want to lose all of my Royal Ballet School & Elmhurst Training so this suits me really well. The soundtrack is lovely & everything is explained very well without being patronising.I would thoroughly reccomend this dvd to everyone. I look forward to doing it again. You can choose which sections you do to suit the area you want to work with. One of the best workout dvds I have ever purchased. Full stars for me.

Do not buy this if you are looking for ballet technique
This is not a DVD of ballet techniques. It is aerobics with a hint of ballet. The presenters do not dress like ballerinas, they are not wearing ballet pumps, tights or skirts. Professional ballerinas never appear with all this bare flesh. The music is aerobics filler music, not proper ballet music. It is a complete misrepresentation to consider this as having any relationship to ballet. The presenters/dancers themselves look more like athletes than ballerinas. It was a waste of my money.
