This kit came with an easy to read instruction manual and a booklet with the basics in case you haven't crocheted before. The included yarn is soft and good quality. The crochet hooks that came with it are durable. It's cute and a lot of fun.

I've been getting into amigurumi lately and recently got a beginner kit from Amazon that I've been working on. It's been fun and it's something nice to do with my hands when I'm relaxing in the evening, so I've been looking around for other kits and found this one. Kits are nice because you don't have to source materials and tools by yourself; everything needed comes in a little package that you can take anywhere. These amigurumi animals are the perfect thing to work on while traveling too since the project is very small.This is a typical beginner crochet kit; comes with yarn, crochet hooks (there are two different sizes in this kit), row/stitch markers, safety eyes, needles, compressed stuffing, a bit of black felt, and a glue stick. There are two instruction booklets: one for general crochet terms and techniques, and one with pattern directions to make each of the pieces in this kit. I like the large font and color pictures in the pattern booklet which is a nice change from the small font in the other kits I have. The general crochet techniques booklet has pictures to illustrate each stitch (I prefer drawings; the photos are a bit tough to tell what's going on) and a list of abbreviations, so when you get to the standard pattern instructions, your beginner mind can translate it into something understandable. And there are QR codes to go online for additional video instruction. I've found the videos to be very helpful as you can watch the whole stitch being made instead of trying to make sense of pictures in steps.This is a complex kit; it's comprised of a pumpkin storage box with base and lid and a little ghost that goes inside of it. It's very cute. It will take a bit of time to make all the pieces, but the pattern doesn't look any more complex in technique than the other project I'm working on now.What I REALLY like about this kit is the packaging. It's super cute and very Halloweeny and the print job is decent. The box has a little clear window so you can see the contents. It's nice enough that this entire kit would make a really nice gift for someone who has a birthday or other special event around the holiday.

Okay I am editing my review to say many of the problems I was having were due to not having all the information. Be aware the link to the tutorial videos starts with a bunch of random tutorials on various types of stitches. These first videos are techniques you will need but are not specifically fit to your pattern. Use the initial videos to practice your stitches (with practice yarn) then look through the video series to find the ones specific to your pattern. This was not made very clear, I just randomly happened on the pattern-specific videos when searching YouTube for general tutorials. The pattern-specific video series is a game changer and makes this MUCH more beginner friendly. As a result I have added an additional star.The yarn quality isn't very good though I'm not surprised since it was a cheap kit. The main problem I'm having with this kit is that it is marketed for beginners when it absolutely is not. The "pattern" is very technical and leaves out instructions that only appear in the accompanying videos (such as when to place a pin-marker in a stitch) and the videos themselves are not very easy to follow. I find myself constantly seeking out how-to videos from other sources and then attempting to apply it to the pattern for this kit. As I'm sure you can imagine, that is not going well. The yarn constantly splitting into smaller threads is making it near impossible to learn the stitches as everything keeps getting tangled mid stitch and I repeatedly am forced to pull all the progress I've made apart and start over.

for the price it’s good it come with all the stuff it says it does it’s just that the if ur a beginner which I am the tutorial that comes with it I didn’t really understand so I watched a different one if u wanna try crocheting but don’t wanna spend a lot of money I recommend 😃

This Halloween witch hat kit is great for beginners. Make sure to read the directions very carefully because I didn't realize that some of the stitches are in brackets and that means to crochet into the same loop more than once. Thankfully I watched the videos first before I started the orange section. This kit is great to learn multiple crochet stitches. I'm glad I got it because it is helping me learn.

I’m not new at crochet and was excited to get these kits so I’m not buying excessive amounts of yarn. I was disappointed with the quality of the yarn that comes with the kit. It’s basically twine and will split into multiple little strings while crocheting. It also begins with combining two yards which seems advance for a beginner box. I liked the step by step videos to watch the individual rounds. I did try to return it but I was told to just keep it and they’ll give me back my money.

Halloween is a state of mind in my house, so anything witchy or spooky is always welcome! saw this kit and got soooo excited! The witch hat pumpkin house! The colors!I have gotten several project kits, some better than others. This one is on the good side. The instructions are fairly easy to follow, though the print is a little small for my aging eyes. They also have QR codes for online instructions and videos (for righty and lefty crocheters!), as well as a comprehensive Crochet Basics booklet. I have been crocheting for a while, but this would be great for anyone just getting started!

Yarn was really rough to the touch and not easy to work with. It kept falling apart as I tried to work with it.

I've been crocheting a lot of amigurumis for about 4 months now and I know basics. This kit is virtually useless. The videos are to help show you what stitch you need to do but there isnt a video on what you need to be doing. Instructions are very unclear. The hooks you get are fine but the yarn isnt very durable or good, it separates from itself. Scanning the QR code brings you to the useless videos that arent even for this project but if you google and search the QingMu YaYa DIY Channel, the videos are there. I dont understand the method here. The instructor says to make a slip knot but then she doubles hers for its 4 pieces of yarn, I've never seen that in any other tutorial before. I found a lot of weird things like this in the video which I dont think is helpful to a beginner at all.
