This adapter works as it advertises, however, there are cheaper alternatives that can fulfill the same job at a much lower cost. The package itself comes with 2 tips and a proprietary LVSUN/KAMERA 3 pin charger cable. I am not quite sure why the manufacturer did this, as you certainly cannot use 2 tips on one single cable. Is it supposed to be a spare? If so, does it imply that the tip is a consumable part that is expected to fail?The function of the tip is to signal to the QC based charger to switch the voltage level from 5V to 12V. Since it's a signaling adapter versus a converter, it does not suffer the same current issues that a USB step-up converter would face (usually those converters are capped to about 800mA of current). For this reason, it works well with higher-powered devices such as routers or small PCs that uses a 12V power supply. That being said, high power QC "activating" cables are readily available for both 9V and 12V and for a fraction of the price, and most of them are just under a few dollars each. The fact that one single cable for this costs $12.50 is outrageous, especially when you have to wait 3 weeks from it to come from China. You can almost get a lightning cable for this kind of money...The barrel configuration of the output is 5.5*2.5mm, versus 2.1mm, which means that while it would fit 5.5*2.1mm devices, the fit is rather loose and the connection can be interrupted with a slight tug of the power cable.Unless you are buying this for the proprietary USB charging cable, I would suggest that you save your money and look for better alternatives...
