Excellent Little Welder
The HITBOX 130a 110/220 Volt welder worked well beyond what I expected. Through the years I have used Welders from The Lincoln Red Box to 500 Amp P&G DC MG equipment for Fixtures, repairs, custom applications at the Electrical rebuilding shop. The little Hit box worked well on 120 or 220volts input. The 220 seemed to work a bit better with less (arc force - hot start) adjustment while using the same test metal pieces. I used Hitbox on 1/8 by 1 inch flat stock. The unit could easily weld the two test pieces..Probably good on 2"x 2"x.125 box tubing. It seemed the little welder is sensitive to the "ARC force" setting and the Hot start on 120.0 volts. The ARC Force and Plunge or hot start do make a difference but touchy dialing that in. All in all, I was surprised how well the little welder worked and like the light weight and tiny footprint. An excellent machine for a quick, light duty weld rather than dragging out a big machine stinger, ground cable etc. Beginners need to go to YouTube for instructions. The supplied handbook is not very instructive.as well as the display options are very hard to see.

Light, effective and very portable!
When I opened the package I was very surprised by how small it is, I had read comments about it and I even saw a video where they did several use tests and yet it seemed smaller than expected, now don't get carried away by its small size, it is very Robust, I can work with electrodes up to 4mm without problems, I am not a professional welder, I am just learning so I use it occasionally just for domestic work, I could not guarantee durability under the intensive requirements of a blacksmith workshop, it is a piece of equipment More oriented towards portability, it has hot start and arc force to fine-tune the use in the different compatible alloys.Pro:- Robust, reliable and very portable- Digital screen with all the information you may need- compatible with 110 and 220, the device detects it automatically.Cons:- Small screen with limited visibility in very sunny environments- Upgradable ground clamp- The dial does not reflect the amperage, it is a 130 amp unit. The disadvantages that the equipment has are easily solved, replace a more robust ground clamp and with respect to the dial, I have prepared a table with the approximate equivalents to adjust the dial according to the needs you have, I attached it in the photos sample, 130 real amp is more than enough for the typical needs of an occasional welder, for higher amperages I always recommend using 220v, it is a device with an excellent price-value ratio and of course I recommend it, I would buy it again without hesitation.

HITBOX 130A Stick Welder
This little welder is powerful. Welded 2 pieces of 1/8 steel together as soon as I got it. I would say it will weld 1/4 inch with no problem. The thing I was disappointed about was the digital display could not be seen outdoors but it does weld very well.

Nice value portable mini-welder!
ARC200D purchased 2024-01-19 arrived 2024-01-25HITBOX 130A Stick Welder,110V/220V Dual Voltage 2 IN 1 ARC MMA Lift Tig Welding Machine with Synergic Control,Mini and Portable Welder Machine with Hot Start Arc Force Anti-Stick LCD Digital DisplayAcquired for ~$50 on sale/discount.I have only burned a few 309 (stainless steel) electrodes (3/32"x12") with EXCELLENT results so far.Plugged in to 110Vac, 110A setting (likely NOT a real 110A), max arc-force, and max hot-start.I'm just a hobby welder with some experience using Stick, MIG, Flux, and TIG processes. I am constantly learning and improving welding knowledge and skills. Some of my welds are looking "almost" professional ;-)I have NOT tried 220Vac but in using other mini-welders I am pretty certain performance only gets BETTER when more voltage/current is available to the welder.Welding mask included with the budget welder is almost garbage. I will save it for EMERGENCY use only when my auto-dark helmet fails. I may use the dark lens for Totality Eclipse viewing this April ;-)I highly recommend buying an auto-darkening helmet for anyone who don't already HAVE one. Mine are $25-$40 versions and are THE BEST welding tools I've ever acquired. My welds improved DRAMATICALLY once I could SEE my starting point and initial puddle formation.Ground clamp is flimsy with NO COPPER near the jaws. It works but could be better. The Stinger clamp I received is very aggressive and holds onto electrodes VERY WELL. No complaint there! The cables are a bit short and I'm certain are CCA (copper coated aluminum) wire. This was EXPECTED since REAL copper welding wire about 2x longer than supplied would cost MORE than I paid for this welder! The included cables and clamps are adequate for light hobby welding. If you are planning to use this welder for more ROBUST welding projects then a ground-clamp and wire upgrades are recommended.Overall I rate this $50-$60 budget mini welder 5 stars. IMO I got MORE than I paid for!If needed I'll buy some longer COPPER wire and a swap out the (<$1) light ground clamp for a much better one. I have #1 below ~$6, or could order #2 if needed.#1) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KX6C9NM#2) https://www.amazon.com/Bolsen-Welding-Electrode-Processing-Professional/dp/B07XXZ79B4If I spend another $50 for upgrades it will still be a decent stick welder (with lift TIG option) for about $100. An excellent value IMO :-)

Works amazing. It's mini but mighty
I was shocked at how well this thing welded. It's tiny!I used the included rods and they worked at low amperage. I got done harbor freight 7011 (I think) and it took me a while to figure out what amperage to use. I had to crank it up to 120 amps according to the welder. I don't think it's actually putting out nearly that dive the rods are low amperage ( 40-80 I think)

fault advertising
can stick metal together i think it can but tested THE statement of 100amps only out put amps in price cost ratio! LMFAO .no wonder people hack me !the humans that sell dreams fame and fortune. ..!.,

Max 101A DC, but works hard on 240v
Can hardly see the screen in daylight, have to cover with hand to adjust LCD. Great hot start and arc force functions. Maybe it PEAKS for half a millisecond at 140a, but with a 1/8 7018 the most it would draw is 101a measured with a DC clamp on ammeter.Hasn't yet hit the thermal shutoff though, so for 101A at 100% duty cycle on 240v/30a breaker as I've been using it, it's not bad for the $60CAD paid when it was still available shipped through amazon. On 120v 20A breaker the same 1/8 7018 barely laid down an inch of bead before the breaker tripped. Needs 40A 120v Circuit for 120v use above 60A output. The included cables are all CCA (aluminum) junk and overheat under constant use, but if you make yourself some #2 copper cables and run it exclusively on 240v/30A circuit it's not bad.

Unbelievably good
This is a truly amazing little welder. Of course it is not a top name high output stick welder BUT.....1 ... it works perfectly2 ... it has fairly accurate control of the power and options3 ... the quality of the earthing and stick cables are fairly goodSo, to get the downside out of the way, the mask is a complete joke. I immediately went to buy one from my local toll shop as the one provided was worse than useless. This IS an important piece of safety equipment and it would have been better to simply not supply it. The slag hammer and wire brush is a bit micky mouse but it works and for the price point it is fine.I bought this welder as I had an urgent requirement to weld up a frame of really thin and horrid mild steel that had fallen apart and was need to be put back into commission the next day. I have a large MIG welder form a well known manufacturer but did not have time to go over to get it.I felt that a simple arc welder would do the simple job but did not want to spend serious money.I expected this would do the job with a bit of fiddling an had a clamp meter to help me make sure I was using the right current and the output was stable. It came with a few sticks which I did test one of and it was fine. I bought some E6013 2.5 sticks to use to weld the horribly thin steel frame. I was also welding outside in virtually zero degrees centigrade so the steel was very cold.Without any practice, I went straight to doing the job and it worked straight away. The current was stable and within a few percent of the expected output. In short I am SO pleased with this little welder and will have it in our fabrication boxes for building and repairing event sets on site.As a note to teh manufacturer. Slightly longer earther and positive cables would be good. The loss of power for 2-3 feet extra would be a good compromise.A case rather than a strap, would be great. If you are going to sell this as a kit then add a mask that is fit for purpose. We threw this out without even trying it.For our project we bought:A cheap and simple SIP welding helmet with an auto darkening faciity - £25A low end DeWalt cable angle grinder - £39 on offer at half priceNorton 115mm Grinding DisksIMPAX 2.5mm E6013 welding sticks - 5KGSome SIP Magnet holdersSome welding glovesWe also popped into our project box for quick stick welding:An extra heavier wire brushA few clampsAn old pair of pointed nose pliers - to keep the core exposed so we could strike an arc first time every timeSo for less than £200 we have a small flight case with everything we need to confidently make repairs on stage. Of course we have other focussed boxes of tooling to supplement this.If you are concerned about the price of this, some of the negative comments or whether something that is only 4 kilos could be up to the job then dont be. It works so well. The only thing I have marked this down on is the "use for beginners". That is down to typically poor documentation and the rubbish mask.

suprisingly good
have used a lot of welders in the past, bought this for a little job as my fathers old stick welder too heavy to move, this one really is suprisingly good and packs a punch, display is a little hard to see in daylight but not an issue , showed this to my father as i was so impressed and now my father has thrown away his old welder and using this one for little jobs :)
