Birlea Tetras Bed - Metal, Silver and Beech, King Size

I bought this for a semi-furnished rental, instead of splashing out on a decent bed when I'll likely be moving in about a year. So far it seems perfectly adequate. Better than the one I broke anyway, which was interesting to sleep on at such a jaunty angle but not terribly comfortable.The bed comes in four boxes, with screws/fittings, tools, and instructions supplied. It took me just about an hour to build it, and it was pretty easy even without any helping hands. All that's involved is a bunch of Allen key and spanner work, plus some snapping together of plastic caps for the slats. No arc welder required.The "sprung" slats are in fact glued wood so will probably lose their springiness quite quickly (in fact I've just changed the cover on my mattress and after just two nights sleep, the slats on one side are noticeably less curved).There are two sets of slats, one on each side of the bed, so if you're a middle lane hogger you won't get any springiness at all. The slats connect to a central beam which has three metal support legs at equal intervals. This could make it impractical to hide under the bed in the event of a psycho clown intrusion.Due to the design of the bed, if you are planning on using a valance it will have to be one where the side and end flaps are independent, rather than one that has a continuous skirt. This is because the legs and headboard/footboard are "outside" where the valance wants to drop, but obviously still connected to the frame. I have a cheap Asda valance so I was prepared to fix that problem with scissors.Not the best quality, but for this kind of money I am pretty pleased so far. As usual if any problems arise in the future, I will update the review.

Very easy to assemble. Instructions were very clear. It's also very light which means moving it about is easy. The most difficult part of the assembly was the boards. The amount of force I had to apply at exactly the right places was beyond belief.The few issues I have is that the bed, while STURDY, doesn't FEEL sturdy, probably due to its lightness and lack of movement preventing feet pads.However - it is a good bed, hasn't fallen apart from all the action it has seen (yet ;)) in its few weeks of usage, which is always a good sign.Note that it doesn't come with the curtain-y thingy on the picture. It looks out of place in a master bedroom, but it works just fine for its purpose.

Company sent wrong size to start with, bit of a pain organising the collection of the old bed, when they turned up to collect they thought it was a collection of mattress.Easy enough to put together, starting to need tightening again after two weeks, could just be due to bed adjusting.

item is very good and seems strong enoughfor my son who is 15 years old only one small snag the mattress sometimes will slide to one side as there are no edges to keep it on place on the frame otherwise everything is fine

Good and solid bed for the price.Arrives in a few boxes but is easy enough to assemble if you follow the instructions.No issues with it so far and would be happy to recommend.

Took some patience to build and some parts were quite tough to fit but I think this just meant the bed at the end of the build is sturdier and solid. Overhall I am happy with this purchase.

Hi the bed is nice but there is 3 single slat caps missing from box

Excellent value bed. Took about an hour and a half to assemble. All the parts fitted perfectly and the drilled holes were all in the right places. Instructions were clear. Bed looks very stylish. Slept on it last night, firm as a rock. At this price, it's a bargain.
