ElnaExplore 340 Mechanical Sewing Machine for Travelling Sewists, Amateur Sewists and Universities

So far so good . Easy to thread up , and operate . Worked well using it on water proof canvas material making new covers for outdoor furniture. Bought it because my mother has the same model and hers has had a lot of use and no problems . Hers is now 5 years old .

This item arrived promptly but the cover was cracked and damaged so I returned it. Very disappointed but have since reordered as I bought the same machine for my daughter who is very pleased with it

I thought it was time to upgrade from my Janone Sew mini and chose this machine as it appears to be a larger version with a few additional features. I particularly wanted to do basic embroidery stitches and it does that very well. I've only had it a few weeks and had time to try out a few things but am very happy. I believe that Elna machines are actually made by Janone hence the similarity.

I do like this machine but am a little irritated with the settings, which are not as straight forward as they could be. I have to look up the settings for every individual stitch which is not quite what I have come to expect from a company like Elna

I have been sewing for 3 weeks, I bought this machine as it's the same one used at the sewing school. Easy to get to grips with, I've made a few projects including piped cushions, inserting zips and buttonholes. I like the top loading bobbin, the machine is easy to thread. I like the fact that it's self oiling. Easy maintenance between services.

Excellent, easy to use machine.

I've had one of these machines for around 7 years. It's a good, solid machine that sews well.A good range of stitches, a built in needle threader, and the ability to change the needle position makes it an excellent all rounder for day to day sewing.
