To summarize this review.I would have to say that this is a high quality strainer. Highly recommended.To break down this review.I would have to say this strainer meets all my requirements and expectations.It fits my mixing glass snug and my cobbler shaker.Note: It might not fit a Boston shaker so snug so be mindful of that. Still useable in every way.It has very tight coils in contrast to a generic starter strainer.Has a very fine strain when closing the gate which I found to almost be unnecessary as the strainer has very tight coils already.Has a hefty mass (weight) compared to other generic strainers which can show durability over time.This strainer fits my bar stand almost perfectly which was one of the strongest reasons why I got this strainer. The generic strainers have an angle to the handle and this one doesn’t. Also the indent on the handle is a nice touch which allows you to open and close the gate with better control.Overall this is at least two steps up from the basic starter hawthorn strainers.And I recommend everyone to buy this product either it be for yourself or as a gift.

Very well made, but only seals to the edge of a pint glass
I like the build quality and fine strainer spacing of this item. but the diameter of the strainer coil is too small for effective use with a typical Boston shaker or mixing beaker.If you shake with a pint glass instead of an all stainless 2pc. Boston shaker, then it's perfect, but I don't :(

Better for glass shaker
UPDATE:Since the description actually says “glass shaker” I’m updating my rating to 5 stars. Perhaps I misread the description.It’s a little small for the classic Boston stainless steel shakers, but fits nicely if you’re using a glass for your shaker pour.
