Easy to Use and Relatively Quick
Having been fed up with a 2TB pencil drive not being compatible with Windows 10 (don't you just love how Microsoft tries to control your life?!!!) or not working properly with the Mac, I decided to get another Western Digital 4TB drive. They continue to be the world leader in drives. Although this is an internal drive, I didn't want to pay the more expensive price for an external drive, plus my Mac is old (2008) and the connection is USBA, so the latest external drives would likely not connect. I therefore use this drive in a docking station and it works fine. - I play music live from this during my radio shows, loading to the playout app.For me the SSDs of this capacity and greater need to come down considerably in price before I will switch over to them. I therefore use great HDDs like this and they work fine.

Good for storage
It's a good drive, don't get me wrong. It is far slower than my M2 SSD's though. This drive is ideal for storage and backups, keeping your SSD's free from clutter. I have 2 of these drives in my build and they are great for storing stuff you don't use every day.

Very good. No problems.
I now have more than 10 of these 6tb drives. Western Digital have never let me down. I used to buy 1tb until the price point of the 3tb and 6tb came down.

It's a recertified drive.
When I was fitting it, I noticed "Recertified" and a couple of Chinese/Japanese characters etched/stamped onto the side. Not glaringly obvious. I wonder whether this might explain the relatively large number of failures being reported. Drive seems to be working, but I'll have to see how long that remains the case. Don't know what the warranty period is on recertified drives. I feel the seller should state it's a recertified drive.

Easy
Easy to format and install. It's pretty quiet too. Just what I needed storage wise to work alongside my ssd with the os on. Happy with purchase.

Random freezing when 1/2 full.
Upon acquiring a 4TB WD hard drive, I initially found its performance to be quite satisfactory, albeit accompanied by a noticeable level of operational noise. However, as the drive's capacity began to approach the 1.8TB threshold, I was confronted with an alarming development: the drive would inexplicably freeze for durations ranging from 10 to 20 seconds during read/write operations within the Windows 11 environment, with the Task Manager indicating a distressing 100% usage.Despite the absence of any glaring faults reported by CrystalDiskInfo and a similar lack of errors detected by Windows 11's scanning utility, the drive's tendency to freeze remained an unsettling and persistent issue. Moreover, this phenomenon appeared to be confined solely to the WD drive, with other hard disks and their associated files and applications mercifully spared from these bouts of unresponsiveness. It is worth noting that the drive's temperature hovered around a relatively mild 31 degrees Celsius throughout these episodes. In light of these vexing experiences, I must, in good conscience, caution prospective buyers against investing in this particular hard drive. As for myself, I had initially sought to replace a damaged 4TB Seagate Barracuda with this WD model; however, I now find myself inclined to eschew traditional hard disks in favor of the more reliable and efficient solid-state drives for my future storage needs.

Great capacity
The HDD that I received was already in use for about 300 hours as per SMART reports, but is in good condition and is working now 24/7. It is very silent, hard to tell if it is spinning or parked. No complaints.

Calidad - Precio
