A great story for escapism
I've always loved this story and so glad now that it's out on Kindle. Will be glad when the other books are out as well.I can understand Leah's fear of Chad's job. But she has to have a little faith in the man. Not all men are going to get killed on the job, some injured yes, but not killed. When Greg her first husband strapped that gun on his hip and went to do the job every day, he knew that it could be his last and it was. When you love someone you have to take the good with the bad at times. But the opening of the book always gets to me. A total stranger having to deliver your baby on the side of the road. Scary and talk about trusting someone. It's a simple basic love story, but I do enjoy the escapism quality to it. Chad's job is real in today's world so it can honestly happen to someone out there.

Short and Sweet
I love every Sandra Brown novel I've read. That being said, I am used to her books having a villain or a twist. This one had neither. Although this book did not live up to every other book I've read by her, I still found myself engrossed in the love story between Leigh and Chad. Chad's a cowboy type that has many characteristics that most women would love to have, but yet Leigh just isn't sure at first... As always, Sandra tells a well written story with hot steamy love scenes. This story may be a tad unbelievable, but it's fiction, so who cares? I was disappointed with the length of the book. The price is the same, but, with only 11 chapters, this one was half as short as her other books. Sandra Brown is my favorite author, so even though this wasn't her best, I was still satisfied.

It is a flat love story that takes place in the oil-rich area of ...
SHADOWS OF YESTERDAY by Sandra Brown. This is the 24th Sandra Brown book I have read. Sorry to say it has no depth, no mystery, no thrilling moments and requires little thought to read. It is a flat love story that takes place in the oil-rich area of West Texas. Leigh Bransom is a pregnant widow traveling home on a deserted road from a friend’s wedding in Abilene when she goes into labor. As she is parked along the side of the road counting her painful contractions a large disheveled and grungy-looking man with dark sun glasses and several days growth of beard, taps on her window. She is shocked and scared out of her wits but she knows she has no choice but to let this stranger help deliver her baby. There are few surprises in the storyline following the scene along the highway. If you are really into plain romance novels, Shadows… may be for you. I struggle to give the novel 3 stars.

Way too melodrama for my taste
Both male and female characters had lack of maturity issues. By the end of the story they had grown up, but I did not find it fun reading about all the drama that got them there The author is very good with romantic scenes, but I like the stories I read to have more than that going for it.

BAD, BAD, BAD!
Bought the CD version.I felt the book was poorly written and poorly performed (Joyce Bean is really bad performing this story)! I usually love Sandra Brown's work, so I'm shocked at this far fetched story. The entire story is unrealistic and cheesy. It starts with a woman in the throws of labor having the hots for a stranger delivering her baby. Most women I know in labor want to kill someone! The story is basically a sex tape (and not a good one). Too much of them being unable to keep their hands off each other and every other line they are having "long and deep kisses" (literally every other line). This was a real bummer to listen too. Don't waste your money on this crappy piece of work. Shame on Sandra Brown!

A nice love story
If you are a can of romance novels, you will enjoy this book. Although I enjoy books by Sandra Brown, this one was missing the mystery and suspense, but it was an easy, pleasant read.

SHaDOWS of Yesterday
What a wonderful love story. I read this book in two days, could not put it down. I know it's s fairy tale as there just isn't a man as terrific as Chad on this earth. Sandra Brown is a fantastic writer and I have read several of her books. I have one complaint-there is a little too much explanations of the sex scenes. It would be great with a little less.

Shallow
Sandra Brown is an excellent writer, but this is the very first book of hers that I found not so interesting as the other ones. The love story is good, however not as profound as should be. I don’t regret reading it, but I expected more.

Worst of Sandra Brown
I like Sandra Brown work, but I do not understand how she could write this. There is no real story. The characters have no depth, just to name few Pontus the book is lacking...

Quick and steamy.
A quick read. Lots of sexual tension. Story line isn’t bad either.

Take no notice of the previous review. I have read this book many times and still love it each time I read it. Yes it is a bit dated but it will be considering when it was first published. If you like Sandra Brown, read this book, it is worth every penny!!!!!!!!!
