Game changer
I love this!! I started canning with regular kitchen items: huge pots, etc. this is so,so worth the money. It takes so much of the work out of it. You don't have to worry about burning yourself. It chirps to tell you when each temperature is reached:correct temp reached, sterilized glass, near idiot proof timing of processing and an automatic cool down feature. Also, the spout on the side to empty the water directly into the sink is so much safer and easier. It has made my life so much easier

Great water bath canner that you’ll ever find
This canner does it all. Warms you jars and on the correct heat settling you can even sterilize them. It’s so easy to set it and know everything will come out perfectly. Although I won’t use it for steaming food that’s an option too. Best Buy I’ve made in a long time.

So easy to use.
I absolutely love this canner. So easy to fill with water & easy to drain. No more lifting a heavy pot of water. Its easy to program & works so good. So glad I purchased it.

IN LOVE….
I love this canner SOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!! So easy to use, I just spent 8 hours prepping veggies and have canned enough quarts of pickles to last me through winter plus 8 pints of salsa all using the same water (adding and subtracting as needed depending on size of jar). I love that I don’t have to sit there and make sure the temp is high enough or not too high on my gas stove. This is the best purchase I have made for food preservation EVER….

Wonderful Item--Be CAREFUL of the TIMER!!!!
This canner does an excellent job and cuts down the processing time greatly! The canner is very "clean" in its functioning regarding the preparation of fruits and vegetables! It holds a large number of quart AND pint jars which will help in preparing larger amounts of food items. The canner is not noisy and operates quite well. However, be CAREFUL in that the lid can get very hot.The timer is VERY CONFUSING at first! Please remember that the MAXIMUM time you can enter into this canner for operation is TWO HOURS! That is it--no "ifs", "ands" or "buts"! TWO HOURS--PERIOD! When you operate the very confusing timer note that while you are setting the MINUTES for cooking as you push the "+" button the MINUTES show up on the RIGHT SIDE of the ":" mark and when you reach your desired minutes and press the "NEXT" button the entire minute setting will only then show up on the timer as "xx:xx" then hit "NEXT" again and the countdown will begin. This procedure IS NOT clearly spelled out, or even mentioned in to instruction manual, so be careful/aware of it or you will be a very unhappy "camper". Remember, if you screw up one step in the process the machine will take you back to "square one" (preheating jars) and make you go through the entire process all over again. I learned this process the "hard way" and by calling Ball Customer Service to find out what I was doing wrong and how to do the process correctly. You will enjoy your canner once you learn how to use it. Just remember it is a water bath canner and not really good for doing MEATS for canning. You really can do ALL fruits and vegetables in this machine. Just watch what you are doing and note that most water bath canning can be completed in under 45 minutes--the time is up to you really.Remember, you can't set this item for MORE than TWO HOURS at a time (which would be excessive for most water bath canning) and BE CAREFUL with how you set up the timer, it truly is a PAIN IN THE A**!

It does its job and then some!!
I have been canning for more than forty years and have enjoyed all of the processes involved - right - it’s where science meets art meets the physical endurance of any athlete! Ha! After aging and injuries took hold canning was such a struggle - the lifting - the steamed up kitchen making it harder to see and just acclimate to the extra heat. Lifting that old enamel canner - just near to impossible now. Then, I stumbled across this Ball canner!I have to say this canner is the bomb!! I used it for the first time this week and went to town on several recipes! The timer is perfect, the display panel is good. Even with eyesight that is not as good as it used to be - I can see the display well. The instruction book is your friend with this - and very well written! If I could make one suggestion to Ball it would be to put the instructions on one “laminated card” so that when you refer to it again and again while canning - you’re not getting it wet!! The canner worked exactly as expected and did all the things the booklet said it would. One thing I missed but was clearly in the booklet: when the canner is processing a batch - it sometimes sounds like it’s turning off or slowing down (you’ll notice it’s not bubbling the same). . Initially I thought it was broken- nope! The canner knows its temperature and to stay at temperature it slows itself down (this is in the booklet). Another awesome quality about this canner is that the kitchen doesn’t become a sauna! It’s such a good solid piece of equipment. The spigot is fantastic! Zero lifting!! ZERO lifting! I’ve not had it long enough to speak about rust resistance however I did put the vinegar in the water as suggested bball in the booklet. To test the canner out I did several different recipes and they all set just fine and processed very well. No issues in a single batch out of seven plus recipes. I wasn’t sure when I was purchasing this product if it would indeed be worth the money - hands down the best thing I’ve bought in years!!! It truly is a game changer. The best part: I had thought my canning days were gone - another favorite thing I’d have to let go of because of how much I could no longer do physically. This technology and brilliant design of this canner has made it all possible again! So thank you to the design folks at Ball who had the vision to make a product that would respond to the needs of their consumers. Great job. To anyone reading these reviews - I’ve learned a lot from the reviews here - the take away from my review to you - is: don’t wait! You’ve earned this canner ;) and if you’re a canner you know what I mean. Just get it lol !!

Great canner so far
I have been water bath canning for years and now struggle with lifting my heavy canner from my stove to sink. This Ball electric canner with draining spout has been great for solving my lifting problem. Also the preheat jars setting takes all the guess work out of wondering if you have sterilized jars long enough and trying to keep up with process times for your foods. It even counts down time for you to keep jars in the canner when process time is complete. And as soon as you take processed jars out you can immediately process another set of jarred food or turn back to the preheat jars setting and sterilize another set of mason jars. If you do waterbath canning this pot is wonderful. It's bit pricey at $300.00 but worth it for ease and efficiency of canning. It has other uses but I am using just to preserve my foods.

Best ever
Easiest and best way I have ever canned in my life. It’s been soooo hot and this electric canner couldn’t be more convenient. Great purchase and don’t hesitate to buy it.

Worth the cost
At first I was skeptical if it was truly worth it, because of the price. I do a lot of canning, and I have a glass-top stove so I'm often concerned about the weight on the stovetop when I have a big pot of sauce cooking, along with my pot for water bath canning. It's so convenient to be able to set it up next to the sink for easy filling and draining. You can set the temperature to high to get it to come to a boil, and skip the jar sanitizing stage if you're like me and use your dishwasher to clean your jars ahead of time and heat them in the oven before filling. At first, like other reviewers I thought that it took a long time to heat up, but I once compared it to my large pot of boiling water and the stove top was only a few minutes faster.

Easy Ball Canner
Works very well but takes awhile to figure out how to run it. Best just go to YouTube and watch excellent video instead of trying to g to figure out the instructions included with the canner. The process seems to take a long time to go from one step to the next

So much easier to can
You n o longer have to hover over the stove making sure that your water level stays high- you set the whole thing up and walk away. And your stove is now free to use for something else as well. Really happy with this purchase.

Well worth the investment!
Great way to can preserves. I will never go back to the old way of canning on my stove top. Very happy with this and now recommend to my friends and family who also like to put up preserves.

Best canner!
Best canner ever! So easy to use and no more guessing when the water is ready to go and keeping the water at the right temp. So glad I bought this:)
