This is a great little thing.Setup is so simple, you unwrap it, lay it down on a flat section of flooring, put the runner sections down and you ready to go.As a note, each runner section has 2 small velcro type pieces underneath to help it stick to the mat. The also help ensure the mat stays flat a little better.There are to holes, a small one and one a little less small, behind this there is a groove. So if you miss the holes the ball falls into the groove, and then whether you get the ball in the hole or into the grooves the ball rolls down the side, along the runners back to you.This is great, I just stand in one place and knock the balls along the mat.The lift in the mat, for the holes really makes it a lot more challenging, so for someone like me who struggles to hit a barn door, this just reminds me how little skill I have, but they balls come back, so I can hit the ball again and be reminded about my lack of skill, rinse and repeat.The mat does have a tendency to slip, so you will probably find yourself straightening it out often, but it is easy to do and takes no time at all.Overall, easy to setup and pack away, ball comes back to you, great way to learn how to knock the straight.

This is great for practice and for some fun during the day.It has two different sizes of hole which is good for giving myself more of a challenge. The gates are good for practice too. Both increase versatility and variety.The ball return isn’t particularly quick but to be faster it’d need either batteries or higher holes, both of which would bring their own disadvantages - so I’ll live with the speed.

The putting mat arrives folded in the box. It would be impossible to transport it any other way. I’ve had mine out flat on the carpet now for around 9 days and it’s not too bad. You can still see the ripples but the ball doesn’t bounce and you’re extremely lucky if you play at a golf course that has perfectly flat greens.My other half is the golfer in our house and says it’s ok but needs to be on a very flat surface. We don’t have a hard flooring as yet so have to make do on the carpet. We carefully move it when we need it and intend to set it up against the wall in the hall.The downside of something like this is you really do have to set it up and leave it out or else you will never get rid of the ripples. I reckon you could iron it flat with a warm iron and a T-towel if you’re brave. I might give it a go when it finds it’s permanent home.The plastic parts of this set will not stand up to harsh use so be aware and treat it gently, the plastic stands solid but don’t lean on it or stand on it.The ball return is a little slow and, it doesn’t come the whole way back to you so if you are looking for continuous flow, it won’t be quite as quick as you might like as you do need to collect them from the end of the plastic return chute.In use, it’s great for practicing perfectly straight shots. Set up you phone to record and you’ll see just how wonky your shots can be sometimes but it’s good to get an accurate feel for what you’re really doing with your putter.
