Sony XDRS61DR.CEK Portable Digital Radio with High Quality Sound - Red

It was very good when the tuning worked - but several stations were always garbled - and some other stations occasionally did the same. After 18 mos this got worse and worse - only 1 FM station appeared on the station list and retuning made no difference. Then today the entire station list for DAB disappeared despite repeated retuning - and when it finally came back, the stations were all garbled - and alternated between displaying 'Tuning' followed by 'Service not available'. With no working stations, this radio no longer works and will have to be replaced.

I love this radio. It tunes well to various stations which can be retained on the pre programmed buttons. It is easy to set the alarm, choosing radio station and the loudness of the alarm. Great product.

I like this radio in terms of quality , sound and appearance.

I like the excellent sound quality, the compact size and the colour (red)The only criticism that I I have is the labelling of the controls. The labelling is difficult to read against the dark red case.

Make sure you don't buy this for a gift for someone if they are going to be in when its delivered as their are pictures all over the box of what it is.

I wanted a cheap but solidly built radio with decent sound which - most importantly - was dead easy to set up and use because I wanted it for my elderly mum. And in my mind I designed such a device: with an on/off switch, a couple of buttons for instant presets and a big volume dial. And guess what ? This SONY radio exactly that ! As a bonus it has got DAB reception, a screen with info / time display, alarm clock, sleep timer and auto tune function thrown in, and it comes in red which is my mum's favourite colour ! Once unpacked I set it up in minutes and it has been working wonderfully since. I am very happy indeed.
