I bought this charger because I believe my new battery for my truck was dead. I let my truck sit for 4 months without driving. Opened the box, to find the product box, then pulled the unit out and lifted the handle. Plugged everything in after it was hooked up to my battery sitting on my deck. It took 5 hours to charge. Got the green light, then put my battery back into my truck. Truck still didnt start, but that has nothing to do with this charger. The charger did its job, plus it has multiple features and is a decent sturdy. Process of elimination to get my truck running again. I would tell you if you need a charger that works and works well, this is the unit for you. Costly but worth it.

The Schumacher SC1309 is a solid, reliable battery charger. It charges great and works well for both 6V and 12V batteries, and the 200A engine start feature is very handy for getting a car going quickly. Even with its power, the charger is still light enough to be portable, so it’s easy to carry around the garage or take on the go. Overall, a strong, dependable charger that’s convenient to use.

After a little bit of use, it has been a very straightforward charger to use. I have used it to charge a couple batteries as well as to help jumpstart a vehicle and it has performed those tasks very well. The size is very nice as well, it's quite a bit smaller and much lighter than my old Schumacher. Hopefully this one will last as long as that one, so far I am really liking it.

I bought this a while ago to replace a smaller same brand of charger that I had bought but it went bad and then the replacement one went bad, so decided to try a larger unit. I charge both car batteries and also a battery bank for both my home and camper which is four 6 volt deep cycle batteries hooked together as one big 12 volt battery. It works good at charging both types but I wish it had heavier cables, it doesn't matter if it's just a car battery or the big battery bank the cables get hot while charging. It doesn't matter what battery it is or how much the battery needs to be charged the unit always starts charging at the 40 amp setting and stays there until the battery is charged.

Biggest pos I’ve ever bought. Hook up battery and keeps turning off. Every time I’ve called I have gotten no help. Do not recommend

I purchased this unit thinking it was a name brand and would last. It lasted for 6 months then just died. I failed to register it with Schumaker thinking the extended warrenty was good. 6 months later the unit is dead and the extended warrenty doesnt kick in until after the manufacturer warrenty expires which I did no register. Now I'm out a battery charger and the money hoping Schumaker will somehow let me register it late.

Very nice product

Got our vechicle running. Easy to use, charge rate was sufficient and helps extend battery. Did not heat machine when using. It is bulky. Like the alternator test.
