Feintech FPS00100 USB Fingerprint Sensor for Windows Hello Reader Security Scanner - silver

The installation is a breeze, the Plug'n'Play making it very easy. Once I had my fingerprint set up logging in, both to my machine and my password manager, worked faultessly. Unfortunately the scroll wheel was defective which made it not so good as an actual mouse. However, FeinTech support responded to my email within a couple of hours and suggested the device was faulty. Amazon replaced it within a day and the replacement device worked immediately and without the scroll wheel fault.

Shipping is great on time, device is small, although it took little time to check for drivers it says plug and play but takes little time to search the drivers. Make sure good bandwidth internet is connected at first time, device is accurate, and easy to use.

I got it working after a lot of effort. The drivers are not standard with Windows 10. After 10 days it then developed a fault and it flashed up momentarily that this latest USB device was incompatible with Windows. It disappeared from Device Manager. I tried again and got it to work again, but unless it was a pure coincidence, my Bios altered Boot up from UEFI to Legacy mode. I then had trouble booting the computer until I could get back into the Bios to change it back. It has had to be returned.

Works as expected. Easy to install with windows 10.

Was good price and seems to work okay. Only reason for giving it 4 stars is that there was no instructions and I had to go to the Feintech.eu website where I eventually found this product - search is in German and download the driver (marked as for Windows 7/8 although this is for Windows 10 laptop). Then had to run the autosetup.exe in the download folder. (The online download pdf instructions were incorrect about going through device manager to update driver!). The two other fingerprint usb that I've had worked automatically. Also key sticks out 1 to 2mm that it needs to.

I tried really hard to get this working under Windows 10, however, while seen it just wouldn’t work when training and then Windows declared the device wasn’t present. This was repeatable after booting and, after trying several suggestions by googling, I decided to give up and return the item.Had this worked on my desktop, like the built in one in my HP Laptop, I know it would have been well worth it...... if anyone gets this working or has a different one that does I’d be really interested.

My work laptop sits closed in a vertical stand on my small desk at home, and I use it with an external keyboard, mouse and monitor. This means I can't access the fingerprint reader or camera on the laptop for passwordless login.I now have this unit in a USB port on the side of my monitor, and I am freed from password hell! It works fine with Windows Hello and I have found its recognition rate to be excellent.The downside, as others have said, is that it does not self-install a driver under Windows 10, you have to go searching for the driver. Once you have it everything is plain sailing. I have docked a couple of starts for that.

Lovely usb finger reader and it is comfortable to use and accuracy is great.

My bad for not checking this before buying, then again, their bad for not supporting linux :-)

S’intègre très facilement avec Windows. Reconnait très bien et rapidement les empreintes. Marche même mieux que le lecteur d'empreintes intégré de mon PC portable Dell.

Solo con el dedo accedes a las contraseñas. Te evitas los posibles keylockers.
