Must read before travelling to India
I always make sure to research extensively before visiting a new country, and this guide has been an invaluable resource for my trip to India. The first thing that struck me about this guide is its beautiful and vibrant layout. The stunning photographs and colorful maps immediately drew me in and made me excited to explore the country. The guide is divided into different regions, making it easy to navigate and plan my itinerary accordingly. One of the standout features of this guide is the detailed information it provides on each destination. From historical and cultural background to practical tips and recommendations, the guide covers everything you need to know about each place. I particularly appreciated the 'Things to Do' section, which gave me insight into the must-see attractions and experiences in each city. The guide also includes a section on Indian cuisine, which was a delightful surprise. As a food lover, I was thrilled to find recommendations for local dishes and restaurants to try. The guide also includes a helpful glossary of common food terms and phrases, making it easier for travelers to navigate menus and order food. One of the things I love about the DK Eyewitness guides is that they include a pull-out map, and this one was no exception. The map was detailed and easy to read, and it came in handy countless times during my trip. I also appreciated the inclusion of a phrasebook, which helped me communicate with locals and navigate my way around the country.Overall, I highly recommend the DK Eyewitness India travel guide to anyone planning a trip to this incredible country.

Stunning guide book
This is a beautiful in depth yet concise guide book of India. It is understandably large at over 600 pages long as you would expect for a guide book for a country the size of India, but yet it feels very organised and focussed on all the necessary parts of India that any tourist would be interested in visiting. There are the usual fantastic maps, illustrations and photographs that you get with all DK travel books and they really are one of the better travel guides you can buy along with the lonely planet ones in my opinion. I think this would be a great purchase before any trip to India or just to read for interest even if you are not going to India any time soon or even ever! A lovely book!

Beautiful travel guide but not as good at the nitty gritty
This India travel guide is full of beautiful photographs and illustrations. It’s perfect for when you are first planning your trip and are still deciding which part of India to visit. The book contains an interesting overview of each area and details of places to visit. While the book does contain information about accommodation it’s not as detailed as the Rough Guide or the Lonely Planet guide. Those guides also contain a lot more information on the practical aspects of travel. I would buy the Eyewitness guide for trip planning at home and another guide for taking with me.
