Good Value for a Beginner
I was shopping for a set of drawing supplies to get started, for a beginner level, and thus did not want to invest a lot of money. So I cannot speak to how these tools compare to more professional/ expensive ones. But so far, I have been impressed with the variety and overall quality of the items of importance to me in this set – especially for the price.Potential Cons:I agree with some other comments that I would not recommend buying the set for the human figurine - it is small and does not closely represent human anatomy. But I did not purchase the set for this component - so that is not a problem for me.When trying the Pastel Pencils, I found them to have a “hard, scratchy” feel. At times they barely write at all – just skip across the paper. I have never used Pastel Pencils before – so that may be normal. But it does Not inspire me to want to use them further.I am not sure whether to put the sketch-pad in a Pro, Con, or Neutral category. I only used the sketch-pad that came with this set once so far for the gradation scale (see Pro section below). I was able to obtain a variety of shading on the paper and was able to erase easily. However, I noticed a haze of graphite/ charcoal dust falling from areas with medium-to-heavier application. I am not experienced enough to know whether that is expected or r/t paper quality - although I have Not noticed the problem when using the pencils on regular printer paper, nor had a problem with this in the past. So I am wondering if this is the problem I have read about where the paper does not properly absorb the graphite/ charcoal? It could be a problem if you like to draw in multiple layers. I ordered a larger sketch-pad & will see how the different papers compare with holding graphite/ charcoal applications. And I ordered a spray fixative to see if that helps prevent further dusting/ color loss from my gradation scale.Pros:The drawing pencils (graphite & charcoal) in the set are very nice! The first thing I did was create a scale with examples of the pencil gradations (see attached picture - FYI, there are a few pencils on the scale that did not come with this set that I already had). The scale shows the wide range of shades offered with the pencils. As compared to the Pastel Pencils, both the graphite & charcoal pencils have a Smooth feel when drawing & are enjoyable to work with. I find it easy to obtain the depth of shading desired with varying pressure with the different pencil grades.I also like the storage case quality. The elastic strips holding the items are well attached/ sewn & the correct length to hold items, making it easy to store & retrieve them. It holds the pencils in place so the number labels remain facing up for easy selection. Overall, the case provides a nice place to store the supplies, nicely organized, so it is easy to quickly locate the desired pencil shade. The Black & White markers seem fine. They work well and are not too dry. The erasers are also as advertised. I read someone had a problem with their kneadable eraser being dry & unusable. But mine is fine – it is soft, pliable, & erases well. I have not yet used some of the other tools, such blending sticks, embossing tool, sand paper, etc. So I cannot eval them.Final Eval:Getting a starter set of drawing supplies, featuring a variety of Pencils & various drawing implements to experiment with (i.e. graphite, charcoal, & willow sticks), for a reasonable price, was the main goal for my purchase. This set fulfills my goal nicely. I found the website’s descriptions of included supplies to be accurate & the items received met my expectations as advertised. I feel the items important to me rate 5/5. The items on the Potential Con list are not a priority to me & the problems I had may be related more to my inexperience than the items themselves, so I am not removing stars for the potential cons. Overall, I would recommend this drawing set. It contains a good variety of supplies to experiment with and get a beginner started, in a nice storage case, for a good price.

Perfect Art Set for My teenage Artist!
I bought this drawing and sketching art set for my son, who absolutely loves to draw and he had a blast with it! The set had everything he needed to get creative, and it really sparked his imagination. The quality is great for the price, and it’s perfect for young artists who are serious about their craft. Watching him dive into it with so much joy made it more than worth it. Highly recommend for any kid who loves to sketch, doodle, or just express themselves through art!
