Used on self built 5" drone.
Used on my self built 5" quad drone, it has a good GPS satellite discovery time frame, as my drone needs 6 before it will arm. Good price, perfect size, and compatible with INAV & Betaflight flight controller firmware. I am very happy with this purchase, the slightly longer wait for it to come from USA Amazon was well worth the wait.

OK.
Unusually good quality for HGLRC.

Bigger than I expected but appears to be very sensitive and picks up plenty of satellites. Tracking starts quickly and works well with a SpeedyBee F7 flight controller.

Excellent GPS Performance I recently purchased the HGLRC M100-5883 GPS Compass Module to upgrade my FPV setup, and I’ve been very impressed with its performance so far. Right out of the box, the build quality feels solid — the casing is compact, lightweight, and well-sealed, which is perfect for mounting on drones where every gram counts. The included cable was the right length for my installation, and the connector fit snugly without feeling loose. Setup & Installation: Wiring and configuration were straightforward. I’m running it with a modern flight controller on Betaflight, and it recognized the GPS almost instantly. The integrated compass is a big plus, as it simplifies the wiring and reduces the need for separate modules. I mounted it on a carbon fiber frame and still got a strong signal, though I’d recommend keeping it as far away from high-current wires as possible to minimize interference. Performance: The upgraded 10th generation chip really delivers. From a cold start, it achieved a 3D fix in around 25–30 seconds, and warm starts were nearly instant. Once locked in, it consistently held 18–24 satellites with rock-solid stability, even in areas where my older GPS modules struggled. Position accuracy was excellent — I noticed a clear improvement in GPS hold and return-to-home precision compared to my previous unit. Compass Accuracy: The onboard 5883 compass is very responsive and accurate, making it ideal for fixed-wing navigation and long-range flights. After calibration, heading data stayed consistent, even during aggressive maneuvers. I also noticed improved yaw stability during GPS-assisted flight modes. Durability: So far, it has handled vibration and weather changes without any issues. I’ve flown in both hot summer sun and humid conditions, and it has stayed reliable. Verdict: For the price, this is one of the best GPS/compass combos I’ve used for FPV. The fast satellite lock, stable readings, and compact size make it a perfect choice for both fixed-wing UAVs and multirotors. If you’re looking for a dependable navigation upgrade, this is an easy recommendation. ⭐ 5/5 — Reliable, accurate, and worth every penny.

A Tiny Titan for FPV Builds I've been building FPV drones for a while now, and the HGLRCM 100 GPS unit has become my absolute go-to for reliable positioning. Pros: Lightning-fast Satellite Lock: Compared to my old BN-880, the HGLRCM 100 acquires a lock in what feels like half the time. It's ready to fly almost as soon as I power up. Rock-solid Tracking: The GPS tracking is incredibly accurate and maintains a strong signal even during aggressive maneuvers. My old BN-880 used to drop satellites during aerobatics, but the HGLRCM 100 just keeps chugging along. Compact Size: The small form factor makes it easy to fit into tight builds. Integrated Compass: No need for a separate compass module, which saves space and simplifies wiring. Cons: wiring: First time I wired up this unit I put the wiring harness in backwards there's one side that goes to the GPS unit and one side that goes to the flight controller however they are not labeled so be careful and watch out. Overall: If you're looking for a top-notch GPS unit for your FPV builds, the HGLRCM 100 is a fantastic choice. It's fast, accurate, compact, and reliable. Whether you're flying freestyle or long-range, this GPS won't let you down. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Using this with a Vapor D6 (stock gps has no compass) on betaflight 2025.12. Once I realized the new betaflight does compass declination a little differently this thing has been great. The manual is attached to the sale listing showing the needed orientation (flip 180 I believe.) Works perfectly with position hold and GPS rescue. I had a failsafe about 1.5 miles out because of my own stupidity and this little guy guided my quad back home into radio range no problem. If you have a 3d printer this model is pretty common so there are tons of models already out there for mounting options. For the price I really don't see why you'd buy anything else.
