The Art of Star Trek: The Kelvin Timeline

Great for Star Trek fans
Another purchase for the fiancé. He is over the moon with this!Honestly, I can't tell you anything else apart from my artist partner that is a fan of Star Trek and desperately needed this book. Apparently he would have died with out it. Possibly he would have been sucked into a black hole or been attacked by tribbles. Who knows. All I know is that it's kept him quiet and the universe is safe now.

Re-thinking re-viewed
Being able to study the detail of the plenitude of designs for the Kelvin-verse Star Trek films is time well-spent. Even the execrable 'Star Trek: Beyond' has designs of extraordinary inventiveness ('Yorktown') and retro-grit (The 'Franklin').But it's the re-imagining of classic Trek in the first film that maintains most interest. While many dislike the exterior look of the new Enterprise there's no doubt that its radically re-thought interiors are a bold and successful triumph. In addition the almost abstract design of the Romulan 'Narada' is spectacular, Spock's "Jellyfish" ship a weirdly beautiful one-off, and the menacing grandeur of the 'USS Vengeance' in 'Star Trek: Into Darkness' a tantalising vision of a militaristic Star Fleet future.Plenty of pictures and a minimal (but useful) amount of text make this a coffee-table book worth constant re-viewing.
