No instructions. Digging into app. Found instructions on what the buttons do on the light. Holding M button in activates Bluetooth then it connects. Frustrating.

£210 at time of review Hmmmmm, what a quirky light… I’ve had this a couple of weeks and used it a few times and it’s worked well, I shoot mostly video not stills, although I did use it for a few photos too. I’ve only used it on location using a battery, it’s relatively lightweight, the Sony batteries weight almost as much! It ran fine for hours off the battery pack (it does’t come with batteries, just a power supply). There’s no manual or instructions in the box, not that you need them per se, it’s very intuitive to use, just 4 buttons and and on off rocket switch to switch between mains and battery. Although saying that, it didn’t mention that there’s a Sirui app that links to the light via bluetooth and allows you to control every aspect of the light in a very easy to use interface, so highly recommend you download and use the app, it’s much easier and quicker to flick to different settings. It has all the settings you need, colour balance, brightness, solid colour (RGB picker), even some FX such as lightning, paparazzi etc, which are OK, but nothing amazing. One thing that would have been cool is to adjust the colours of the LED’s in bands, so you could use it as a coloured band for long exposures etc, but it does’t allow that, it’s just a single colour across the whole light. It has a couple of 3/4” tripod mounts and you can even connect couple of these to together to make a longer light should you want too. As to the bending feature, yeah it could be useful for close up shots to get a more even light, but then again you’re also likely to need a diffuser to soften the light a bit so probably fine for product shots, but maybe a little harsh on faces for portraits, unless of course that ’s the look you’re going for! At £210 this seems a lot compared to the competition, although I don’t know anyone else that makes a bendable light, but if you don’t need one that bends then you can save a lot with something else, even other Sirui lights. So a bit of a mixed bag really, for certain situations this may be a really useful light to have, although personally I haven’t quite found the absolute need for it just yet. Sirui never fail to amaze me! This bendable light is absolute fire! Very bright with a lot of features. The fact you can stack lights together is just crazy! I definitely recommend it!

This is definatly something different I’ve had this light a while now and my son has took a shine to it and ive had to put it in his sensory room. I have obly used this with the plug as i dont have a compatible battery to uae with it altho thats fine as we are only using it indoors. Its buly and has a bit weight to it. There was no real instructions in the bo so juat had to kind of wing it but to be honest it didnt take alot to work it out. Only has a few buttons to power it on and switch between battry or plug use. There is also an app to control the light setting colours colour, brightness etc... The light is obviously movable and does bend altho doesn't bed as much as I was expecting it to it was a bit stiff but doesn't know if will ease off over time with more use but so far not. I also had a friend who told me if you have more than one of these therenis a way to connect them together to make a longer light. We are happy with this light I'm sure it had alot more to it but for our use we can't complain it really helps my son relax and clam down.

Great app, really versatile light. You can changed angles, colours, brightness, everything is adaptable. Fantastic quality and could be used by so many, streaming, photography, mood lighting everything! Such a cool and fantastic item.

Very good quality bendable LED light from Sirui comes in a very nice box that gives it that premium look & feel. For me personally compared to other lights I have this light is lightweight at 907 grams which is perfect if you are planning on using this on the go, it is made from plastic BUT it is good quality plastic so looks and feels good in the hand you will look the part if you show up at a shoot with this. The light has three light stand/tripod mounts one on the back, and top and bottom of the light if you hold it vertically I would have liked a tripod mount on the side so you could attach it horizontally to a tripod but I guess you can do this with the mount on the back and attach it to a ball head on the tripod. This is a bright light and can go from 2700K to 8500K so you won’t have any issues there, it has thirteen light effects these are all ok and a very good bonus but they are all just the lights flashing at different speeds/colours. You can control the light fully from the buttons on the back of the light but it comes into its own if you use mobile app I personally find this makes it a lot easier to control the light and you can do it from a distance so no need to be walking over to the light. One of the options I love in the app which I have not seen in other lights I have is the picker tool, this will use your camera just point it at a colour you want and press the pick button and the light will try to replicate that colour its not perfect and a few times I had to adjust the sliders to try and get it closer to the actual colour but this is another USP for me. The USP and probably the main reason most people will get this light is it is bendable and that’s what made be get this, the light bends more forwards than it does backwards I would say. Even tho I know it is bendable the first few times I used it I was still nervous bending it I just had it in my mind it will break but once I got over that in my head I was bending it and so far I have had no issues. Another USP is if you have more than one of this light you can attach them together to make a longer light I personally don’t see me doing this but if you have bigger products or say want to light up the whole side of someone rather than just there face I can see where this will be useful plus means you can have a longer bend/curve. The light only comes with the power cable but does have the option where you can attach a battery to it a NP-F970 which is easy enough to find to purchase I already have this battery for another light so this is a great option if you don’t want to be looking for a power plug when your out and about. The light is a bit on the expensive side but there is no doubt this is a top quality product and is worth the money BUT it comes down to what are you really going to use this for ? If you are never going to use the bendable feature there are cheaper options out there, I think this is great for product shots and also portrait shots if you want that dramatic look but you have to remember there is no difusser if you want a softer light. Overall I am very happy with the light and recommend it.
