Alaska,Big Skies and True Love and the end of a series I couldn't put down!
I recently binge read the entire 7 Brides for 7 Brothers series while on vacation in Hawaii. To me the island of Kauai is one of the most romantic places in the world. So, what better place to read the collaborative romance series of some of my favorite romance authors! I know some of you might be thinking you could find other things to do then read when in Hawaii. But really between the river cruise, and sunset catamaran cruise, snorkeling and trekking through beautiful tropical gardens, there is plenty of time to eat breakfast on your patio, sit at the three tier pool at your resort or just soak up the sun on a not so crowed beach on the island. This romance series by Roxanne St. Clair, Joanne Ross, Christine Ridgeway, Melody Anne ,Ruth Cardello, Barbara Freethy and Lynne Raye Harris, is the perfect island vacation companion (second to my spouse of course!) I admit I might have skipped a few sunsets just to keep reading, much to my brother and sister-in-law’s dismay! After all this was supposed to be a romantic couple get away. Oh but no one writes melt your heart romance like these authors!I first encountered this series in one of the authors’ newsletters and was immediately intrigued and ordered the entire series right then. It is available on Kindle Unlimited and can be read with your subscription but as my Unlimited was full at the time, I purchased the whole set. Something I rarely do! However, I was anxious to have this set for my vacation. Two things attracted me to this series. First, 7 Brides for 7 Brothers has to be one of my all- time favorite musicals. My millennial uber-feminist daughter just can’t see the romance in being snowed in on a mountain with 7 men who pretty much kidnapped you in order to “trap” you into marriage! But having been snowed in with her very sexy mountain man father, I can see how love can blossom in some not so great circumstances. I couldn’t resist seeing how these authors handled 7 ultra-independent billionaire brothers finding their true loves in some less than perfect situations. The second factor that I found interesting was the idea of seven authors collaborating on one series. This is not an anthology of these romance writers novellas or short stories. This is a collaboration where these authors with different writing styles, characterization and romance genres (contemporary, suspense, chick lit etc.) agreed to a specific plot line , characters and how settings, personalities were all going to fit together. I have had personal experience with collaborating with other authors on a novel and the result was less than satisfactory. Of course, I was a young Honors English student and the collaboration was on a school assignment, so my income and career were not at stake. Still it requires a lot of time, interaction and communication between authors. In order to get the plot to be consistent, the interactions between different characters (the one you are responsible for and the others your fellow authors are writing about)to flow seamlessly and the timing between chapters correct can take months of meetings, conference calls, endless sleepless nights and a few strained friendships to get it right. These ladies not only did that flawlessly, they have gone on to collaborate again in 7 Brides for 7 soldiers. And if you can believe their newsletters, they still admire each other and are willing to continue to work together! My own experience with collaboration left me traumatized and afraid to write for years! The novels are complete with no cliffhangers and thus could be read as stand- alone. I think it is best if you read the series in order starting with book 1 Luke by Barbara Freethy and ending with Finn by JoAnn Ross. Each of the 7 Brannigan Brothers has his own personality, lifestyle and own brand of sexy manhood. Yet, they all share love for their siblings and a brokenness from an early family tragedy. As I said the flawless consistency in the interactions between the brothers from book to book as well as a smooth timeline that is adhered to by each author is amazing. There is more than enough steamy romance in each book without overwhelming the storyline. Each brother comes to terms with his roadblocks to love in a different way and a different setting from Yosemite to Italy. I can see how this allowed each writers’ special style to be showcased. The descriptions of the settings made the books come to life for me and made me feel like I was experiencing the scene with the characters.Being able to get lost in a book, leaving my own fears, problems and insecurities behind even for an hour or so a day was heavenly. That feeling of timelessness, escape from reality, is to me a mark of great romantic fiction. The authors of 7 Brides for 7 Brothers achieve that in this series! Congratulation to JoAnn Ross and the rest of the authors of this series! Well Done!

A wonderful series!!
A great series about seven brothers who learn more about their father after his death and how much he really did love them.Finn Brannigan is a TOPGUN aviator for the Navy. While he’s flying missions over Afghanistan he learns his media mogul father dies unexpectedly. Colin Brannigan left his youngest son an airline in the wilds of the Alaskan wilderness. Finn thinks it's a cool surprise, but hasn’t a clue what he’s supposed to do with three small planes. But after escaping death twice Finn leaves the Navy and heads to Alaska looking for isolation. But his isolation doesn't last long when he flies a runaway bride to her planned honeymoon cabin located in his remote mountain town of Caribou. Turns out they have some history from a one-night stand about a year ago. Meeting Tori again and spending time together makes Finn feel alive again and wanting what his brothers found. But he's keeping a secret.Tori Cassidy is trying to rebuild her life because of a dishonest, cheating playboy. She is really enjoying reconnecting and spending time with Finn. But once she learns about the secret he has been keeping will that end everything for them?

The seventh son falls in love as their Father last wish is fulfilled
I have to say I'm sad to see this series end. I hope one of the author has a followup to how the brother get together for holidays or weddings. I'd like to see how their happy lives now change once their fathers estate is divided amongst the seven brothers. I loved Finn and Tori's story both had felt abandoned during their childhood .Finn because he was the young when his Mom died and Tori because she was placed in Foster care after losing her parents.Once Finn inlisted into the Navy he grew as a man but realized risking death so many times wasn't something he wanted to keep doing. Tori felt she was unlovable because no foster family kept her, and her fiance was cheating on her. Together they find love and Finn wants to give Tori everything she never had a home, family and unconditional love. This is a must read series, about family, true love and loss.

Enjoyable
This is another new author to me. I have thoroughly enjoyed this series and hate to see it end. I’ve enjoyed finding out how each of the Brannigan sons find peace with the loss of the father they thought lost himself in his work after the death of his wife, but who actually showed he knew them all better than they could ever imagine. The boys each find true love and their own HEA, becoming close again through their journey to discover the reason for the different legacy left to each of them.

Quietly
Finn Brannigan is seeking peace and quiet. He has claimed his inheritance in Alaska. He was a Navy pilot and now flying small planes. His second brush with death, has lead him home. Tori Cassidy has been a gypsy for a long time. She is running from a sham engagement. She ends up in Caribou, Alaska and into Finn's orbit. They both knew what they had was the forever but we're to scared to act. Finn has never told Tori who he was. He wanted her for him, Finn the aviator. Like all secrets, they always come out. Love love love the ending.

Great setting and good heat
I struggled to finish this book, but I made it. I love JoAnn Ross' books but I found this one lacking the chemistry and character development consistently found in her other stories...particularly the High Risk and River Bend series. I actually liked the primary- and colorful secondary- characters and loved the Alaskan setting. While the intimate moments were well-written I didn't feel like Finn and Tori were soulmates. Compatible in bed? Yes, they sizzled there. Good people with a common tragic loss as children? Again, yes. A great couple destined to be together forever? Not so much.I find Ms. Ross to be an extraordinary story teller but this book just didn't grab me. I'm happy that I'm clearly in the minority, though. 3.5-stars for me.

Emotional as hell - but I loved it!
What do a former fighter pilot and a stunning singer have in common? Chemistry! Sexual, steamy attraction goes one. step further when they meet up in Alaska but can it last? This is one emotional roller coaster that grabs you by the scruff of the neck and won't let go. Just as well there's a fair bit of humour in there as well to help keep the pulse down! The endings so good I had tears in my eyes! I'm now a true fan of JoAnn Ross! ❤😍😉😘😏

Who needs sleep?
Delivered in the witching hour so my Kindle, I had to read it. I was not disappointed in one sense it us as satisfying as all the others but I had predicted that Brannagan Papa would turn up saying 'i told you so' and I was disappointed, though his ghost was certainly more evident in this volume than in the others.
