Law of Judicial Precedent

The Judicial Bible on the method for the practice of law.
To me, a practicing federal lawyer at the front lines of the American judicial process, this rare, heavily-referenced nuanced work by its highly-accomplished legal minds, is undoubtedly an absolute legal masterpiece. I can already see that this masterpiece will be an invaluable weapon in my daily battle for evanescent Justice and judicial respect for the rule of law. Incredibly, the sale price of less than $50.00, despite the obvious Herculean amount of work that went into this legal treatise, makes this and incredible bargain! Most legal treatises containing this vast amount of work and variety of authoritative contributors sell for ten times that amount.Though I am barely 1/4 of the way into this richly detailed book - Chapter 21. Per Curiam Opinions and Summary Dispositions at page 214 - I already know that this book will remain at my desk for daily reference for a very, very long time to come.Authors: Thank you.

Awesome book with 2 SC Justices contributing, incredible.
Brand new excellent condition even though description said good, very high quality binding and materials. I was interested in this book when I heard SC Gorsuch and SC Kavanugh participated in a ‘booklet’ It’s over 900 pages and lined out well. I read a little each night and it does have great original subject matter all put together in a very well thoughtful presentation. If you’re into this kind of thing, precident or stare decisis, and the Supreme Court you’ll like this one! I don’t know if there will ever be another like it in modern times. I highly recommend it, almost $50 but worth it.

Should be assigned reading for all 3rd yr law students
It's a good read. I haven't practiced in a long time, but read and apply case law regularly. The book helps characterize the thinking attorneys do with respect to applying precedent. It labels and classifies all the things attorneys do to distinguish, apply, extend, or narrow the law. I wish I could have read it oh so many years ago when I started out as a fresh faced federal judicial law clerk! It's a real accomplishment.

Genuinely Useful...
Outstanding treatise. Anyone who handles appeals as any part of their practice, in particular, ought to have this book.Garner is always masterful at what he does: creating genuinely useful legal reference books for actual practitioners, not just theorists. And this book is most surely no exception.

Brilliant book
It is absolutely brilliant book. The most comprehensive guide to precedent. Also must admit that it's not only for US legal practitioners. Despite the fact that most examples are from the US courts this book is helpful for any lawyer who works in legal system that recognized legal precedent.
