Are these Local police and fire scanners?

You can use them as a police or fire scanner. Providing your frequency is analog. A lot of police departments are now using digital . They are primarily used for two way communication. If you don’t have your amateur radio license. You can’t talk on some of the frequencies. There are some frequencies that you can transmit on this radio without a license. What's the model year?

I believe this model was manufactured in 2022. There is a newer version with not much change. Hope this helps. Tom

Are these fcc approved?
