When I have to travel and bring my "office", it's usually a pain in the neck to deal with all the cords. I have cords for my laptop, my internet phone, my external screen, a printer, etc. etc. - both the power cords and also the cords that connect the electronics. Sure, I could get everything cordless, but you still have to charge all your electronics. These ties work nicely to keep all the cords organized and to prevent them from tangling. They stay done up but come apart with a little effort - that's enough to keep my stuff organized. The ties are quite soft - they would likely break if put under strain - but they're fine for keeping power cords tidy and organized. They're a bit expensive, but are easy to use.

These straps are soft and stretchy, but strong enough to wrap up a 6ft extension cord without any difficulty. The little ridges keep the straps from slipping off, and unlike Velcro straps, they won’t catch on fabric or grab a bunch of dust. They’re a little pricey, and it’s hard to say how they’ll hold up over time, but so far so good.
