A slow burn BL horror mystery
I wasn't impressed by the first volume and I'm not impressed by the second. However, the second solidifies that TSHD is as slow a burn as they come. This isn't a bad thing, however. It's not everyday a manga truly takes its time to get to the point. It's also refreshing that the relationship between the protagonists develops in a digestible pace whereas something like Seaside Stranger goes from 1 to 100 in two pages or so.It needs to be said, however, that the author doesn't know how to pace the supernatural mystery, making character introductions and other concepts a bit sloppy, but the overarching plot is still curious. There's even a bit of PTSD Radio in this volume with some sort of hair demon that pops up briefly.Oh, and I don't like how the author draws old people. The design for the young cast (especially the protagonists) is top notch, but anyone older looks really out of place. Hopefully this improves in later volumes. All in all, I'll be getting volume 3 to see where this goes. It's intriguing enough and volume 2 gave a hint that there's actual gay stuff to come.
