Complete Kitten Care

This is not a "bad" book, but overall I don't feel like I have learnt a lot. There were a couple things that bothered me about this book. Some more than others. Calling your cat "baby" over and over instead of just using "your cat". At start I thought it was cute, but later on I got kind of annoyed with it because it keeps being repeated over and over.But this was only a small annoyance. Then we have the fact that throughout the whole book a lot of the same information keeps being given over and over as well. That is just really unnecessary. Also, no inspiration for text included with the photos in the book, this text is identical as the information you already are reading and almost always is on the same page as well..?But the most annoying thing about this whole book is all the spelling errors and faulty sentences, and my first language isn't even English. The most ridiculous thing in the book I found was where the exact same text was just copypasted with only one page in-between. (See photos)This book has been revised even. Do they not proof read books anymore or what?Overall, the information wasn't bad although a lot of times it felt either repetitive or not useful enough.

If you are fostering kittens you need this book!!! From the science to behavior this book convers it all!!! You are taking care of little lives, it’s not just bottle feeding it’s about caring for every aspect of these little kitties 24 hours a day for 8 weeks. This book will help you succeed in your mission.

...and even if you're not, this is a good source of information about choosing and raising kittens. I was given a copy 17 years ago when was looking to adopt a new kitten, a cat who lived with me over 15 years. When I recently adopted a litter of three 8-week-olds born to a feral mom (in a very nice person's house), I bought a new copy. Of course, I skimmed over the chapters on picking out the "right" kitty since the choice was made, but there were many good reminders about the details of welcoming a kitten, or three, into my life.

For months have been researching, talking with vets, but found no help. Until I found this book, it has helped me understand my cat more in many areas and solve many problems. Thank you for writting this. To all who have cats highly recommend!

This book is a great read before bringing home a new kitten! It has some chapters you'll want to reference throughout the kittens first few years but I recommend this before your kitten comes home so you are prepared. This book is a "one-volume encyclopedia" of updated information, written in a friendly tone. It covers choosing/rescuing and bringing home one or more kittens; weaning; feeding, medical care; socialization; training; play and more.

I'm getting a kitten soon after not having a cat for five years. Since I haven't had a kitten in over 20 years I needed a refresher course on their care. This is a great book with lots of useful information. I'm so glad this is the book I chose to order.

Absolutely must have for any kitten owner! We are first-time owners and we really wish we had read this prior to adopting our kittens. It’s a fabulous resource and answers our many questions without coming across like a science textbook.

This book another filled with inappropriate and useless information unless you live in the US and have a very little regard for your pets. She talks about travelling on a plane with you kitten and shoving it underneath your seat during its flight, which doesn't surprise me that they have so little regard for the welfare of their pets as a little dog was shoved above inside the lock up cabin during a flight and died it made the news in the UK so I have no regard for this book at all and will be returning it. Also all information with regard to purchasing is only relevant to the American market.

Not for the UK market. Declawing cats is common practice in the States. We'd be prosecuted for cruelty here. Good as a reminder of other things when it's been a while since you had a kitten. Too big, too expensive, very overblown.

I am really happy with the content of this book I actually feel more confident about caring for my new kitten, can be read cover to cover or referencing a particular area.I thoroughly recommend it.

I cannot rate this highly enough. This book is written for the novice (me!) but without being patronising. I found it easy and entertaining to read and it's packed with all sorts of useful information. My kitten is definitely benefitting from the advice in this book. It would make a perfect present for anyone interested in cats.

This is a very informative book especially for hew kitten owners. Thoroughly recommend.
