Does this come with any instructions or tips for building 3d structures or other more advanced domino runs?

No. There are no such instructions with this kit. Building complex sequences is very time consuming, and requires many failed experiments. There are lots of YouTube videos which show different designs that have worked eventually.

Can you buy extra templates?

I am sorry I only purchased the one set. I am not sure you can buy extra templates apart from the current order.

Is this suitable for 11 year old boys?

Yes my child was 10 last Christmas and is 11 now. I would say good for beginner since there are only 100 pieces. Our 5 year old plays with them too.

How much does 100 piece domino box set weigh
