Excellent tutor series, book 2 ( descant and treble/ soprano and alto recorders)
I remember this so well from primary school and 48 years later, I became interested in the recorder ‘group’ of instruments again. I was so pleased that everything was as clear as I thought it would be. Clear photos of a pupils with recorder, if not, then the recorder drawn clearly with the holes indicated, either closed or open and the note shown both by letter and on the musical stave beside it. So you can be very clear, even if you get a little muddled transposing when you get to the Alto section of the book (this is book 2 of 2 books, the first one entirely dedicated to the descant recorder, and this second book finishing off the teaching of notes on the descant and starting to teach the notes of the Alto, which you need to learn different fingerings for or just remember to transpose, because the Alto is not in the key C of the descant, but ).The tunes in these books were always decent - I.e. proper music by proper composers, Handel, Bach, etc. There are a few jolly children’s nursery rhyme tunes in the first book for practice, but, on the whole, this is a much nicer book to use than the more modern, contemporary books that have some silly named tunes that sound just as daft!If you are looking for a rapidly progressing recorder tutoring book, for both young and old, then as long as you are not put off by some rather old looking photos, these books, are in my opinion very good.

Timeless
I had Book 1 as a child and Book 2 doesn’t disappoint. It helps with the harder descant notes (great pictures) and serves as an introduction to the Treble notes too. Well worth getting as an adult. Lovely little pieces included.

Great recorder book
Just as I remember it when I was at secondary school. I am now relearning the recorder and really enjoying the experience. I am 76.

Great book to help with fingering
Last used one of these when I was at school - the book is brilliant - takes you through all the notes and where they sit on the stave and adds in little pieces for you to practise with. Love the fact that this includes how to play the notes on the Treble as well. Have found the book indispensable.

The original and the best
I cannot wait to help my 8 year old daughter learn to read music and play her recorder from the same book as I used in the mid 80's. I bought this with the first book too. The images and design are old fashioned but that doesn't matter. I am so glad to have found a book that teaches recorders and music in easy steps.

School Recorder Book 2
My 9yr old could not wait to get her hands on this, she and her teacher seem to think this is going to be an exciting book to practice on. The fact that we could not seem to get it elsewhere was a plus for Amazon.
