Envirofit M-5000 Rocket Stove

I like using this-- it is a small wood stove for camping and for picnics. Its especially great for 1 or two people. I use it when I go bird watching with my daughter for a picnic. If I had a larger family I might not buy it because it is small--so you can only cook one pot or skillet's worth of food at a time. I guess you could cook using a large pot but families going camping would probably not plan to bring a large soup or stew with them. I like this because its just the right size for the two of us and I hate using charcoal to cook. It fits nicely in my car trunk when I am done using it and cools off quickly. Beware. starting a fire was not as easy as the instructions made it look. I had to do a couple of things to ensure a good fire each time-- I bought a hatchet so that I could chop the outsides of my logs off to make sure wood was dry enough and also use a lot more paper that what is really suggested in the directions. I put a large baseball sized ball of waded paper in the middle of the top, light , and that seems to start a fire that lasts long enough to light the wood. At first I tried lighting just a few leaves to start a fire and with some wind my picnic was a disaster. A larger ball of paper along with extra dry wood works just fine though.

Keeping this little beauty handy for power outage cooking and purifying fresh water. Test on the unit produced hot water almost instantly with the fire chamber blasting away with tiny branches of dry wood. The wood feed from the front makes use of long pieces thereby avoiding cutting a lot of small pieces; you just push the wood in as it burns.

Took this to our camping family reunion to try it out. Other families were cooking on the camp fire while I started gathering a handful of sticks to start cooking. By the time we were done eating, they were still cooking.This thing heats up fast with just a handful of sticks, easy to control the temperature with the amount of stick used to burn. Everyone that I let use it, raved about it.Very easy to clean up and store.Very pleased with the purchase.

Arrived quickly and my husband loved this Father's Day gift from his boys! Awesome rocket stove, burns with even just a little wood, no smoke during cooking, and temperature is easy to control. Extra special thanks to Evan for such fabulous customer service!

Needed a back up fuel efficient rocket stove and this one really fits the bill. Hope I never have to use it but would be a fool not to prepare.
