Great DIY Tool!
I love how well this tool works! The fact that the shaft spins within its sheathing is amazing!! One word of advice though....take the set screws out of the knocker chain with the provided allen wrench, add blue thread locker and reinstall. I was so excited to clear my first line that I didn't double check that they were tight. All of a sudden, it felt a little funny as I pushed. When it surfaced, the set screws on the closest end of the knocker chain were gone and the chain had balled up. Ended in a trip to the hardware store. Had I not stopped and pulled it out when I did, the chain would have probably been lost down the drain as the remaining set screws were loose as well. Other than that, it's a super design for a DIY homeowner.

Don't buy this
I really thought this would be a great tool but it's not. Imagine you have a clog 10 feet down the pipe. This tools doesn't so much as clear blockages as it scrapes the inside walls of the pipe. So the tool scrapes the walls of the pipe before it even gets to the clog. It just jams itself up before it can get to the clog. I tried adjusting the chain so it didn't swing so wide but that didn't work. So I thought, maybe this tool is good for maintenance- like scraping the sides of a pipe that does not have a clog- and run water to wash everything down. I tried that on my bathtub but couldn't get it past the 2" trap. I nice idea but just doesn't work. I expect they will discontinue pretty soon. Stick with a Super-Vee.

Doesnt work with bends
If you have a straight shot then it works amazingly well clearing grease, fat etc. However if you are trying to move through a 2nd bend it work work at all.

Great for DIYers
As a homeowner this is great to have. The chain knocker it comes with is really meant for 1 1/4" pipe but it worked decent for my 2" cast iron pipe. It helped clean out some of the build up gunk and hair in the bathroom line.

couldn't get the first job done
kitchen sink. grease clog. just couldn't get through it... it was like hitting a wall and just could not get any farther than 10 feet. I'm on the fence if I am going to return it as I do apartment maintenance and don't want to have to apologize everytime i try to use it.

Bad.
I don’t recommend this. It gets stuck and doesn’t turn. Worst buy so far.

Outstanding
This will not take the place of a rooter, but once you have the pipe opened up it will clean the pipe walls better than a rooter ever could. I cleaned out a laundry line that was about 25 feet long the first time I used it. I had to fight it to get it in as I was not using water. But once I got to the end of the pipe, I put on a small trickle of water and ran it back and forth every foot pulling it back. After one pass I put my cheap sewer cam all the way through the pipe and It was clean as it could be. It was a better result than I expected on a 60 year old cast iron pipe. It looked like a new pipe. Next time I will use some water on the way in as well as long as it is draining. The 30 foot length is from the tip to the connection inside the drum, so maybe 26' of usable line, which is enough for most residential pipes
