excellent customer service
I used for a 29 gallon aquarium. lighting was adequate but could be been a touch wider. the problem is that after only 2 weeks, half of the colored lights went out making the evening setting much less appealing. I am updating this review and giving 5 stars instead of 3. the company sent me a personal email apologizing for the light and sent me a new one for free. they pursued me and this shows me that they are a good company that is standing by their product.

Good performance, high quality build, and affordable
This is an awesome little light, it's crazy bright and the night setting is really cool. The light it's self is high quality. The support braces are sort of flimsy and slide out easily, but they do their job well. I do have to say though, for an LED, it heats up a surprisingly large amount. Not uncomfortable to the touch hot, but warm enough for it to be worth mentioning.Edit: The heat does in fact raise the overall temperature, but no more than a couple degrees and only if the lid is seated tightly. an opening small enough to not interfere with evaporation is enough to vent it. I haven't tried it, but setting the light directly on your lid isn't a very good idea.Update: I have been using this light for almost a year now and the performance made me buy a second one for another 5.5 gallon planted tank. It's fantastic for growing plants, particularly mosses in my experience. It has the potential to burn the leaves of plants that require low light if you leave it on for too long every day, but within 4 months using this light and bi-monthly half doses of Seachem Flourish per my routine in all my tanks, a loosely packed piece of Willow Moss about 3 inches in diameter has grown into a densely-packed mass of growth that could easily occupy a quart sized container. Pictures can't do it justice, my phone camera is terrible either way. This light SIGNIFICANTLY outperforms any other nano plant light I have ever used.

Alright for the price
First impressions, the legs are incredibly flimsy and easily bumped out of track. I'm using it on a 5 gallon that's about 16" across and I put a layer of painters tape around the legs before inserting them into the light so they're more secure.Do not use this unless you have a lid on your aquarium or its more than likely going swimming if it get bumped, especially if you're at the further end of the leg span.Brightness wise, it seems to be great. I've only had it set up for a week and just got the plants in, so I'm unsure how well it will grow them but I'm satisfied with how it illuminates everything. It's not as warm toned as my photo makes it appear, my driftwood is new so it's still releasing tannins and darkening the water.I'm not so sure about durability since one of the green LEDs has already stopped working which is frustrating. Luckily the rest of them are still functioning alright.Overall I'd say it's good for the price and worth giving a shot.

Good light but maybe not for light demanding plants
Bright light which is great for viewing but will say it’s not as powerful as my Finnex Planted + light. I’m running them on 10 gallon aquariums and noticed my plants reach for window light in the tank with this light (it is semi close to the window). For research sake, I swap the lights out and put my Phoenix light on this tank which straightened the plants right up. They no longer reached for the window. So if you’re looking for a cheaper alternative for plants, I’d say this is maybe a lower light plant type of light as far as growth is concerned. I’m definitely seeing better color and growth from the finnex. I have some red stem plants that have better color with the finnex. But as far as just a light for a good viewing this one is perfect! I’m sure it would be fine for growing low light plants as well.

Super bright and pretty
I just love this light, it’s amazingly bright which my plants love, and the moonlight setting is beautiful and relaxing. The rainbow shimmer on the floor is cool too. I did have to reduce the duration of the lighting due to algae though, which is a bummer because I work so much that I don’t get to see my tank now. It came with a new piece of driftwood though, so hopefully I can increase the lighting again once it’s gone, but man it got out of control quickly. So definitely make sure you have a timer for this light, it might be a necessity.

Its been in use for a few days now and it seems that it works pretty well as a grow light
Very bright light, I have this set up on a 5 gallon planted aquarium. Its been in use for a few days now and it seems that it works pretty well as a grow light. It does of the red, green and blue lights required for growing plants but i would like to see more than 3 each personally. The night time mode is a nice feature, it is a lot less bright than the day mode with only the 9 rgb light on. I would not leave this light on all night however I still turn it off at night. My only complaint is that the stand it comes with is flimsy, there is no way to lock the legs in place once you have adjusted the length of them for the tank. This means if you accidentally bump into the light while cleaning the light can slide off the legs and fall. I have almost had the light fall into the tank a few times while i was cleaning it. easy fix is to just remove the light before cleaning. However this is an issue that is a pretty obvious design flaw.

Excellent and affordable!
This is a great affordable LED aquarium light. I have a 35 gallon octagon tank and wanted to replace my 18 inch T8 fluorescent light and this was just the deal! The full light is great to get my plants booming again and the shimmer light is great for that twilight/evening effect! Impressive build quality too! I’d highly recommend this light as a replacement for anyone currently using an 18” T8 florescent!

excellent value
For the price, this is a great product. It competes with lights you'd find at big-box stores at a 50% premium, all while having good build quality. Are there better lights out there? Most definitely. However, they are either far more expensive or more difficult to obtain. Unless you're looking for a precision grow light for plants/corals with very exacting needs, this light should do the trick.... And frankly, if you're looking at that type of set-up you probably have done the research and have the funds for the top-end lights.

Keeping my plants healthy was my main concern
So my original light was 6 little LEDs in a full cover hood to my aquarium. My plants were not getting enough light and dying. I switch to this light and a glass cover for the aquarium and within a day my plants were doing better. Within a few weeks my plants are doing great and multiplying. The night-time light is still fairly bright, so I don't use it and just turn off the light at night. I also switch my tank from a HoB filter to a sponge filter at the same time, my fish and shrimp are doing well and seems to be breeding better as well.

Decent light, but watch for QC issues. Also, not much better than Fluval Spec V (2.0)
This is a lot better than the older model. The form factor is much more compact and streamlined. However, my unit was flickering and this makes me leery, so I sent it back. The colour is good, and it is a bright light. However, compared to the 2.0 light that comes with the fluval spec V (ver. 2) it isn't so much brighter that I would keep the light anyway. It is a much warmer and whiter light than the fluval however. Build quality is okay, but not premium. I found the power brick/transformer to be quite large. The light also gets quite hot.
