Jeff Brown's Flat Stanley: The Great Egyptian Grave Robbery

Appeared on a Year 4 booklist
This book appeared on a Year 4 booklist at our school, so we bought it and gave it a go.It was a little simplistic for my eight year old, but he still enjoyed the story and all the references to ancient Egyptian artefacts. There's nothing too scary in it, if that's a concern. The book, although it has a different author to the original stories, keeps the tone of the originals and the illustrations are by the same artist. On the whole this was an enjoyable read, with plenty of pictures to break up the text, but possibly better suited to 6-7 year olds.

Great to read with children during an Egyptian topic
Great to read with children during an Egyptian topic. Some suspense and dilemmas and a range of characters to discuss

An absolute favourite !!!
My nine year old daughter is an extremely capable but reluctant reader , that was until we discovered the Flat Stanley series of books. She will now read at length every night in bed and I am absolutely thrilled to see her enjoying reading so much . I bought The Great Egyptian Grave Robbery because she is doing ancient Egypt at school, and she loved it . My only regret is that I have been buying this series individually when I should have bought them in box sets . I would recommend for reading age 7-9.

Loved by my class.
I have a Year 4 class who absolutely loved this book! Since reading it a while ago, quite a few of the children have bought others in the series to read themselves. It doesn't go into much detail about the Egyptians, but enough to spark your interest for a unit.

Great book
Children loved reading this book. As a teacher it was important to choose a book that matched our topic (Egyptians) and was interesting.
