Birch & Meadow Jalapeno Chile Powder, 4 oz, Hot & Flavorful, Tex-Mex Cooking

I love it!

I can't really complain, because it's exactly what it says on the label.But for me, this stuff was WAYYY too hot to use.It's a good quantity for the price, and if you're into having your tastebuds seared off,It will probably last you a good, long time, because a tiny bit goes a LONG way!

We use often jalapenos at home. My wife likes spicy food and she often prepares salsa with them. She's however sometimes frustrated when we are out of jalapenos (or the ones we had went bad) so having this powder is useful. It is of course not a perfect substitute for the actual jalapenos, but it works. Give a good jalapeno flavor (though not as strong) and definitely a lot of spiciness. I like the only ingredient is jalapeno powder.

I really like jalapeno flavor - and I am really like spicy foods. This chili powder gives more heat than flavor, in my opinion. And that isn't a bad thing if that's what you're wanting. And it definitely has some jalapeno flavor, just not as much as I was expecting. I suspect that has to do with how the jalapenos were prepared before drying and grinding. Regardless, I was hoping for a flavorful chili powder that is more than just spiciness and as such, this isn't getting the regular use in my kitchen but maybe I'll find an optimal way to use this in the future.

Came in mail today. Sampled a little. It is fire and does not include salt.
