I feel like I'm reading Romans fro the first time. Familiar passages and not so familiar ones are explained in some depth. This book is accessible and informative. I find the way it takes a particular passage and approaches it in a two part study particularly helpful as I can take that passage and study it over two days/sessions. I love having time to ponder on a passage before moving on. It gives you time to think. It has brought the book of Romans to life for me. A wonderful read.

The book of Romans is one of many people's favourite books in the bible, containing a great explanation of the gospel, and how our lives are transformed in light of it. But it isn't always the most straight forward read, full of deep theology. A new commentary/devotional from Tim Keller aims to make it more accessible to the every day person like me and you.Romans for You is a tricky book to categories - it is a commentary, but it is one written so as to be readable, applicable and practical for regular people. As such, it assumes nothing and has a glossary of theological terns used you can refer to if necessary which is help, it sets out verse references in a clear way unlike some commentaries, and while there are original language words these are all well explained and you don't need to have any previous knowledge.Particularly helpful was the way it is broken into short segments within chapters, and each segment has questions at the end to help you apply what you have read to your life, so even if you just have time to read a short bit there will be stuff to help you apply God's word to your life.As Romans is such a meaty book this book only looks at chapters 8-16 (chapters 1-7 were addressed in an earlier volume).  It can be read straight through, as a segment by segment devotional or by jumping to the part that deals with a passage you want to look at. The level of depth and detail is perfect for those with no previous scholarly background who have an eagerness to grow, and those with a good previous bible knowledge will still find fresh goodness and wisdom in here, as Tim Keller is one of those pastors full of wisdom that we all can learn from. If Romans is a book you enjoy but find confusing in parts, or just want to understand better, this is a great entry level commentary that may even I spire you to move on to harder stuff.

Even more in-depth than Timothy Keller's other writing. I found it very useful when leading a study on a short passage so very much a reference rather than a straight through read. Contrary to many other reference and study guides though this reflect the love for the Lord and the word rather than any intellectual snobbery.Highly recommended.

This book, that covers the second half of Romans, deals with some of the weightiest and most challenging passages in the New Testament in a measured and loving way. Romans is such a rich letter and these books help to see more of that richness. Ultimately, they point us to Jesus as the centre of the Gospel which is where our eyes should always be drawn.

I used 'Romans for you'' as a daily study and thoroughly enjoyed it. I found it very clear in its arguments and written in an easily understood language. It has helped me to grasp better how I am saved by Grace and am both a sinner yet righteous at the same time. I would recommend this book for anyone thinking of studying Romans.

If you find the book of Romans challenging to understand, then this book will help you better understand the messages.

I love Tim Keller and was not disappointed by this series (I already read book 1). Great discussion questions to do on your own or as a group.

The For You series books are such a wonderful tool for biblical study. Each section is a perfect amount to read, meditate on, and digest each day. I appreciate all of the new biblical knowledge and insight I've gained thanks to the details pointed out by the author's commentary. The Bible is so rich and having a book to help me study it is a blessing.
