Q: Does it come with calibration solutions?

If you purchase from Agriculture Solutions then we include 2 additional 125ml bottles. The meter itself comes with 14ml bottles of each.

Q: Does this test soluble or available calcium, or does it include bound-up forms too?

It only tests for free calcium ions.

Q: Does it work in Ca blood?

I was also looking for some handy device to monitor Ca in blood at home but hardly found one. Thus we use this Horiba tester to read the Ca in saliva of my mom, who is a PD patient, in order to reflect the daily fluctuation of Ca in her blood. So far this tester works very good and I believe it works with blood as well (though we recommend a non-invasive way of monitoring). Once we see remarkable difference on the readings, we can adjust her meal and intake of phosphate binder accordingly. This tester may not give you the accurate Ca ions concentration because there are many interferences in body fluid which can affect the Ca measurement. But this tester can serve as a reference to show the fluctuations from her general level.
