One link snapped off and one big ring seriously damaged after a slight shove during testing.Didn't even kick the door with my leg or barge it. A slight shove with one arm was all it took to snap the chain link and damage one of the big rings.I doubt it will stop any forceful entry if a one arm push breaks the link.

Product arrived on time and on first viewing looks well made.However, expect to replace the screws, as mentioned in other reviews, the supplied screws are rubbish.It would also have been useful to have an installed photo or instructions, so I have included a photo with my review.

I bought two of these for the front and rear of the house. They seem sturdy although I hope to never have to find out for sure. Installation is simple enough, fixing are provided for both wood and upvc doors. Most upvc doors will have a metal frame within and multiple point locking mechanism. I ensured the fixing points were out of the way of the multi point locking latches. You will need a metal bit to drill into the metal frame (up to 4.5mil) to allow the screw to go through and make a larger hole (10 millimetre bit) in the upvc for the supplied raw plug, as you tighten the screw so the metal raw plug will spread behind the upvc. The upvc door frame will also have a metal frame so the same applies. You will see from the picture I have the door part of the chain latch turned the opposite way, I wanted a smaller door opening. My only niggle would be the screw head is easy to bur so take care when using a power tool to screw in and use a tight fitting drill piece, I would have liked something like a hex head.

Great product. We bought this for an inside door to the cat room. We needed them to be able to get in and out, however wanted to keep the dog out so they can have their own space. We have a strong staffie and the other door straps/ latches, apparently made for pets, wouldn't cut it. This however, looks great and is very simple to install. Only took a few minutes. Very happy with this purchase and will likely buy another for our front door, as extra security.

The media could not be loaded.  The only good thing about this product was the speed of delivery!!The product arrived fully sealed but there was only Five odd screws not the Six required but to be honest they needn't have sent any because they were utterly useless.They wouldn't even go into a plaster partition wall or a soft wood doors, even using a powerful electronic screwdriver. So no big deal, I used the ones from the tool box in the end.Once I eventually got the chain and latch secured, the flipping thing didn't work. As well as the flat metal bit that was meant to pass through the gap, the chain did also meaning the door just opened. I tried to close the gap, to the point where the flat bit goes through, unfortunately the chain still goes through too. I tried to return the product and the charge is £6.99. Disappointed.I now have 4 holes in my door and two in my wall.

Unfortunely it literally fell apart. The chain locks into the side of the frame. I've never unlocked it since but slide the chain into the slot on the door when I want to leave the back door open. Unfortunately the very solid looking chain seems to fit into the lock section by being clashed between two thin square sections of metal beneath the lock. These have just separated allowing the chain to fall to the floor. I've had it fitted less than 4 months.

This was fitted to my front door a couple of days ago. A slightly tricky job as the door frame is very narrow; it was fitted the opposite way round to the picture so the chain goes left to right. Also the larger flat part was situated higher than the smaller part, to make it easier to get the chain on in the tight space. It's a good quality door chain, very strong and sturdy and makes me feel a lot safer in my flat, particularly at night.

I couldn't install this chain as the screws are too soft. The star screws head became round screw head whenI tried to screw this on to my door with no option left to further screw it down.I tried with more than one screws and I have lost almost all 6 screws. I really doubt the quality of the chain where the screw itself is too soft :(I went for this instead of Yale, because amazon mentioned that its the amazon choice. Now I have no option of returning and just to throw away and spend more money on Yale which I should have done at first.
