Stunning display with a few minor complaints
This TV (Hisense 55U8K) is an absolute treat to the eyes when watching movies, shows, or playing games. Photos don't do it justice you have to see it in person to fully experience it. I have some cons that I am listing as well as pros. The cons don't stop me from enjoying this TV any less they are just some things to keep in mind if you decide to get this TV. I am not mentioning specs much in the review as they are mentioned above in the listing and spec sheet. For a full review of every little spec and detail see rtings.com (not misspelled) review. Overall, this TV is great for those interested in really any kind of content but just keep some of the cons in mind.Pros:*Automatic picture settings works amazing at recognizing the content type and adjusting to it, (must be enabled in settings).*4K 120hz is native and even games that don'ts support it benefit from reduced latency (like in the Forza Horizon 5 photos).*Everything looks so life like and clear, haven't run into anything looking off or terrible. Even old games are upscaled and look fine.*The speakers are amazing, the subwoofer makes action in movies truly immersive.*Price is way lower than other comparable displays.*Micro LED so no burn in and has good contrast especially blacks.*Dolby Vision and HDR are both supported unlike Samsung displays.*The game bar and FPS viewing are nice features for gamers.Cons:*AV (component) is supported but the adapter needed is not included, you have to go their support site to have them send you it.*When changing picture mode out of Auto you have to go back into the TV settings to turn it back on.*Only 2 HDMI ports are 144hz with one being the E-ARC and the other two just regular 4K 60hz.*Google TV setup makes you accept their privacy terms and such which is annoying. Auto content recognition requires accepting Hisense privacy terms.*Onboard storage is known to a fault with Hisense so using a Fire stick or Roku will extend the life of your TV.*Don't sell my information is off by default*You have to change the HDMI configuration on each port to enhanced for 4k content to work correctly

WOW!
First thing, this tv gets very bright. I’ve read some reviews and watched reviews on you tube that say the upscaling isn’t that good, well it’s not perfect but it’s more than acceptable. HDR and HDR10 are absolutely incredible. Haven’t watched anything with Dolby Vision yet, only had it 2 days. I can say the sound gets loud, however I did not use the tv speakers for long, I hooked my soundbar, it excepted without a problem. I’m not a big fan of google tv because of their tracking history but the interface is easy to navigate. I use prime video and watch local channels with an antenna. I had to turn down the brightness a bit, those 1500 nits are no joke. I made slight tweaks to the other picture adjustments like color and hue but pretty much out of the box it’s a great picture. If you are on the fence about an OLED or QLED, you would be very happy with this. The blacks are stunning, and this coming from someone who didn’t really notice that before. The white is very white and bright, that’s why I turned the brightness down. The colors are amazing. Bottom line, for less than $1000 this is really fantastic buy.Update: Ok I have had the U8K for a month now, I realize picture settings are a personal taste, however here is what I am using.SDR: Theater Day. Local dimming, medium (for HDR as well).HDR: IMAX.Brightness, contrast and color are way too personal, so it’s up to what you like. I do have my color temperature set to warm 1.As I don’t mind the “soap opera” effect, I have smooth gradient set to medium and motion enhancement on smooth. Super Resolution is on, everything else under Clarity is turned off.I hope that helps, enjoy your U8K as much as I am.Update 2: Dolby Vision is unbelievable as is HDR10+. My first football season with U8K, watched college football last weekend and watching Ravens at KC now. Can’t wait to watch my Lions, the picture is fantastic.Update: 1 year to the day I bought it, the remote started acting up. Would scroll from top to bottom and side to side. Wouldn’t stop. The tv would not turn off. I had to physically unplug. Dealt with that for 3 days. Did a factory reset, repaired the remote, since no problems. Thought it was a bug in the tv. Hope this helps anyone having this problem.

Best bang for your buck
I'm coming from an LG OLED evo C3, so picture quality isn't quite as impressive, but for 100 inches, under $3k, it's definitely worth it. It took some time going through the various settings to get the picture quality right. My LG looked great out of the box, this one took a little more fiddling. It was a bit washed out with factory settings and I thought I made a mistake at first, but once you take some time to get the color, brightness, clarity and picture mode dialed in, it looks great and 'm happy with my purchase. It practically takes up the whole wall in my living room and it's an impressive looking behemoth! At 1500 nits peak brightness, it's suitable for any lighting conditions. If you came from a smaller higher end tv, temper your expectations, the bigger screen shows more flaws in picture quality, but overall, best bang for your buck out there. It will surely impress you friends!
